CAVEAT EMPTOR! SDS Designs is nothing short of a scam! Please do your research via online reviews and BBB complaints before doing business with this company. Unfortunately, I didn’t do my research before foolishly writing them a check! I was taken for $1,300, they literally took my money and I will never see the table unless I now pay $450 more than the sales agreement! I hope that by speaking out about my experience it will save others from also being scammed.
The first hint of trouble should have been that they don’t accept credit and only take cash/check UPFRONT! Steven, the owner, personally told me that the table was $1,300 (payable immediately) and that he would ship via White Glove Delivery for $350. I emailed 25 days after that initial quote/payment to ask when the table would be shipped. At that point Steven indicated he no longer offers White Glove Delivery (although it is still offered as a service on their website). I immediately asked for a refund, which he refused. He said he would try to find a way to get me the table (we discussed upfront the need to have this delivered to the second floor and not curbside). I was concerned that he didn’t have an established shipping practice as he specified when we spoke on the phone, and again requested a refund, which was refused. He then came back to me and said he would ship it to me for $700 - $800 ($350 - $450 more than we agreed to when I wrote the initial check) because the company he used to use lost shipments and returned them damaged after six months (which he would have already known about since the time between my quote/payment and shipping request was only 25 days). I refused to pay more than we initially agreed to and requested a refund for a third time. He refused and I have heard nothing since and I can only assume I will never see my money again or receive the table unless I cave to his increased price.
