Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

I signed up with Service Magic to get listed on their directory. For about 6 month I called and cancel my listing because I never got one lead as they promised me. They told me all the listing would be removed but instead, they added their sales phone number and their website on my listing.

Now every time I search my company on Google I see my company name listed on 5 directory companies affiliated to Service Magicwith my address and description and a Service Magic Phone and website. Probably if somebody call asking for my service, they redirect to one of their clients.

I've been calling customer service and spoke with a representative named Scott ([email protected]) about 4 times requesting to delete ALL listings, he always promise that he will comply with my request and nothing happen.

They use your listing that has good search engine position to get lead to your competitors. Thats wrong! At least play clean and delete the cancelled listing, instead of using the listing to add their phone number and website.

Service Magic has been doing this for years and getting away with it. They always tell the client that it is not their fault that their servers hijack your business or divert your clients to their website, but yet, when you try to get them to stop all this, they tell you it may not be possible. Don't believe it! Their employees are told exactly what to say to you and it's all BS.  It took 3 months of complaining from me and threats of suing them, for Service Magic to take all their links and diversions off my company information.  I will never use them again!

Hello,

My name is Chelsey Richey and I am the Online Customer Liaison here at ServiceMagic. I am so sorry to hear about your experience with our company and would like to speak with you to resolve this.

Id like to point out that our Exact Match advertising isnt intended to steal your business name or to drive consumers to SM, by using your business name. The intent is to market your company online and drive consumers directly to you, advertising your business name and profile. Of one of the advantages of participating in Exact Match, we do filter out consumers not looking for your advertised line of work or coverage area (Tasks, Zip Codes)

The Exact Match program is an option that you choose to have or not have. If you're leads are off per your request or if you've cancelled- it will show that you are not available because you've requested to not receive leads from us at that time. When Exact Match is cancelled, it can take some time to be removed from the search engines; we have to wait for each one to do a web crawl.

I look forward to speaking with you to remedy this situation and again apologize for the inconvenience it has caused. It would be greatly appreciated if you could please contact me directly at 303.963.8145 or at [email protected] I do look forward to speaking with you soon,

Thank you kindly,
Chelsey Richey
