I rented a upper flat for over seven years and my landlord showed up and threatened me because I am Native American. They would bring lifts and look in windows of my apartment. They would come up on the roof of the lower apartment and look in my living room. They would call me names. They would walk in without knocking or even a notice they are coming over. I was supposed to have a private bathroom but they would just come in whenever they want. I couldn't use the garage for the first 7 months I lived there. I wasn't allowed to use the yard. I fixed the apartment and made repairs because they wouldn't fix anything right, like they cut a hole in my bathroom door instead of buying a $7 piece to fix the toilet right. There was black mold all over the bathroom when I moved in and I cleaned it and sealed the walls because they wouldn't do it. I fixed the dryer door when the kids downstairs broke it. I bought a new washing machine and delivered it to the basement when the old one they had there broke down. I put in a decent refrigerator because the one they had was rusty and from the late 60's. I updated the light fixtures in the apartment from the old square glass fixtures. When my ex left I couldn't get the keys back so I changed the lock and one month later he showed up and asked me for a key to my apartment because I changed the lock. How did he know if he wasn't in my apartment when I was gone? After 7 1/2 years I got evicted just for walking out in my yard.
