Shopnbc credit manager stole my identity by changing my credit card address and phone # up to Minnesota. I know who did it from shopnbc and when it happened.

Here's what happened. I purchased a flat screen tv from Shopnbc back in January 2005. The TV arrived damaged. The box was mangled and torn .I contacted shopnbc to report this damage. They told me I would need to ship it back to shopnbc and pay for it myself . They promised me they would reimburse me for the shipping. (Yeah right). I told them that it was their responsibility as the shipper to contact UPS and file an insurance claim and that I would not pay for the UPS shipping back. Shopnbc would not budge. Finally, I had my UPS rep for my business have it picked up and do all of shopnbcs work.

UPS issued an insurance check back in April 2005 to shopnbc. I have the check # the amount and proof from UPS that the claim was paid. I provided it to shopnbc a few times and they still will not give me credit back for what I paid. They keep feeding me different stories that they were never paid by UPS and then change their story to "I have already been credited back".

Well after going round and round with them and my credit card company for 8 months, I decided to try one more time before I contact my state attorney office (Florida) as well as Minnesota's.

I eventually spoke with a manager in the credit department whose first name I have but will not post at this point. I told her that I was only credited back for 1 of 3 payments .

This lady was venomous from the moment she got on the phone and she flat out told me that I was lying and that they did credit me back for all 3 payments that I made.

I told her I wanted to conference call the credit card company and her so I could prove that I was not lying so I could finally resolve this after 8 months of agrivation and wasting my time.

She initiated the conference call and when all 3 of us were on the phone, they (Citibank) asked me my password and other questions they always ask their customers to verify identification.

Well the credit manager must have written it down and two days later, called into citibank and changed my address to a location 3.8 miles away from shopnbc's offices.

They changed my address and phone #. The phone # was not a working #. I found out about this when I was speaking to the credit card company three days later and I just happen to stuble upon the fact that my Florida address was changed to Minnesota.

I could not figure who or why someone would change my address to Minnesota because I have not been to Minnesota in 15 years and I do not know anyone in Minnesota.

I racked my brain trying to figure out who in Minnesota would have done this . I then remembered that shopnbc originally gave me a Minnesota address to return the damaged TV to.

I then found out that the address that I was given originally was actually shopnbc's headquarters.

I finally figured out what happened when I did a mapquest with the address shopnbc provided and the address my credit card was changed to.

It is only 3.8 miles away and only two roads away!!! This is not a coincidence. This is a huge country and for it to be only 3.8 miles away? The odds are a zillion to one.

In the meantime, I have had to put a fraud alert on all of the credit agencies and have wasted almost an entire week just on this ID theft already.

And I still cannot get my $600 back from shopnbc after 8 months.

I cannot decide who are the bigger crooks. Shopnbc for refusing to credit me for a TV they have been paid for by UPS and for employing a criminal who is stealing peoples Identities in their credit department of all places (the department where they have your SS# and every other piece of vital information about their customers or the actual criminal herself.

My next calls are to the state attorneys offices and also to 20/20 (abc). I will also be notifying executives at NBC the parent company.

Shopnbc Shop NBC is NOT OK!! The credit manager is stealing peoples identities.

After speaking to Minnesota and Florida Atty Generals office it is quite apparant that shopnbc is NOT OK!!! They have so many complaints against them that both agencies told this to me without my asking. They both knew off the top of their heads. Now I can tell you that I have been given the run around for 8 months and I have dealt with at least 30-40 people in customer service. This is not just one person that you refer to . They have ripped me off for $600 and to top it off, they stole my identity which is a FEDERAL CRIME. If the credit manager has done this to me and I just happen to catch it quickly, how many other people has this happened to that just couldn't figure out how it happened. Well I can tell you if you buy from shopnbc, there is a good chance that the same credit manager is doing it to you. They will get busted ...I guarantee it because I will be going up very high in the executive chain and to many of the media both locally (in Florida and Minnesota) and Nationally.

SHOP NBC IS OK!

#4Consumer Suggestion

Thu, October 13, 2005

I have been doing business with shop NBC for 5 years and have never had any trouble at all. I have sent items back and always got my monies returned if I asked for it. I think you ran into a dishonest individual who ripped you off and if you go to shop NBC's legal department they will take care of it for you. They have always paid for return shipping and replaced items that were broken in transit. You are talking to the wrong persons inside the shop NBC network and somebody (individually) screwed you over. Don't run down the whole shop NBC network over some jerk.
