As the fellow stated above the chip is used as a simple resestor.
The Idea is if you put a resistor in one of the sensor circuits you can lean the mixture at high throttle settings and get closer to the ideal power mixture. The engine computer compenstes for the change at lower settings.
This is based on the idea that the american car makers go very rich at full throttle to protect the internal components of the engine from detonation.
So to sell a performance improving "chip" there has to be a computer chip or it is false advertising.
The problem is that the claims of improvement are so exagerated that it MAY constitute false advertising.
And yes it is a scam, the makers know that the average person will not DINO their car to confirm the gains and real world fuel economy is so dependent on the weather trafic and mood of the driver as to entirely unprovable by the average human.
Good uck running these guys down, they probably have a good lawyer and will weasel out of any real investgation.

On the report is an actual picture of what the 2 wires are connected to inside the box. Technically it is a "chip"..or the proper technical term "integrated circuit or IC chip", however it is not on any kind of circuit board or utilizing any "software". From what I can tell (I am an EE grad), it is being used as a simple resistor, it is only utilized two pins of the IC so I can't imagine what else it can do but limit current..I can buy a resistor for pennies (heck I got bins of them sitting for years I may throw out) that would do the same thing...which is nothing that would increase horsepower or MPG in the real world.
Smack him one for me..then press charges...when he is released from prison...be waiting outside to smack them again.

There is no magic "chip" that gives you 50 horsepower. Now even if you are a novice why did you not spend a few SECONDS and simply do an internet search on this company before sending them a dime? Heck, might as well buy a sham wow...a revolutionary new invention that absorbs liquid..oh..you mean a towel?
Okay, I apologize for the sarcasm...but everyone needs to research before buying crap like this.
BTW....the ad for this scam company claims the chip contains software...find any software in the empty box?
Oh...but they give a 60 day money back guarantee...but too bad no phone number or address to request a refund or where to even send anything back. I guess you can email them which is all the "contact us" link takes you too..but my bet is no response, ever.
So as you state in the end of this report...your only recourse may be to find these punks and smash their faces in (but good luck finding then with no address). If this got you arrested and you told the judge what they have been doing, I bet the Judge would smash them in the face with his gavel as well. I don't think they like take lightly this kind of swindle in those parts of Florida.
