They charged me $2000 for what they claim many classes. They told me to take a Network+ Certification test 1st, and if I dont pass it within a period of time, I would get my full refund back. I told them I failed the exam, and they only gave me back just the cost of the test. Not to mention when I took these classes, the tech support told me I need to lower my settings on my computer. I was hacked multiple times. I was given misinformation about this, and I was pressured into taking these classes.

I have been investigating, researching, and compiling data against SmartCertify/SkillSoft. I too am a victim of the company. In fact, I had even thought about filing a class action suit. However, I have been thinking the matter over. If the company has ripped you and especially many others off, then file a complaint with the SEC. The SEC website is http://www.sec.gov The complaint forms are located at: http://www.sec.gov/complaint/selectconduct.shtml So far, it seems as if "Other" is the best choice. This seems of a more direct approach of hitting SkillSoft in the financial belt. I hope this information helps. If enough people complain, then just maybe SkillSoft will do something about their malicious subsidiary, SmartCertify, or whatever new name the subsidiary is going under.

Count me to your clas action lawsuit for now. Unless they pay me back my money in full, I will take this criminal act to the end!

I have had a very negative experience with Smart Certify. I would like to join in your endeavor for a class action suit, but I am not sure how to go about it. I have filed my own rip off report , but I'd like to get involved with a class action.

I have also had a problem with this company with no avail... I signed up for this service in August of 04, Tried to cancel my service before any charges were actually applied within hours of signing up (SAME DAY), and am still battling with them to remove the charges! I will not pay for this service as I was mislead during the signup process. I was under the impression that tests were available, however this must just be a ploy their reps use to 'get their sale'! I would be happy to join any class action suit against this company, as my ordeal has now reached over $2300. It seems they will sell their service for whatever amount they can con you into. My credit is becoming horrible from this one instance of stupidity on my behalf. I even have lawyers contacting me trying to collect this $$. I am resorting to contacting my own lawyers to resolve this. I suggest that NO ONE ever do business with this company, as they do not care that their service is not what they say it is.

I actually did it. I got out of my contract, and even got all my money back. Here is how it worked. I had originally filed a credit card dispute with my bank, and upon recieving a rebuttle to my dispute from the company, the bank sided with the company. I would be responsible to continue to recieve monthly (130 dollar) payments. The total amount was of 1300, over 10 months. 590 had already been charged to my card. Now back to my dispute with the bank, I had filed the original dispute eight days after i signed the contract. Secondly, I had not downloaded the software, I only accessed it via the web. They had records to see that i never downloaded it to my computer. With my lawyers advice, I contacted the company to let them know i was turning the matter over to my attorney because I would not pay. I threatened to sue for the amount of 1300 dollars. They said that they would alleviate me of the 700 or so remaining in the contract and let me out of the contract. I then contacted my lawyer with the offer. I called them back and let them know that I would not accept their offer; however I had used the software online for roughly 8 days before realizing how dissatisfied I was. AS GOOD FAITH I allowed them to keep the 130 (1st monthly payment). End result, Contract was nullified, alleviated of reoccuring monthly charges, and allowed them to keep 130. I think that this only will apply to people who signed online and DID NOT download software to computer. Only if you were to web access perhaps. As far as for people recieving via US Postal (MAIL), i dont know if you would be able to because you DID have access to COPY the software, so from a pirating standpoint, the company has you on lock. I am no longer persuing a class action per the terms of agreement with Smart Certify. If anyone has any questions or I can be of any help please let me know. I was able to get OUT OF CONTRACT AND THIS ISSUE RESOLVED within days of contacting Smart Certify with my demands. Hope the best of luck to any of you. PS- My suggestion, take the computer science classes at your local community college. I live here in California, and took the two preperatory classes for A+ certification. Only cost me 26 dollars per class. Benefit - Hands on work with computers in lab - Great educated people teaching these classes. - NOT EXPENSIVE - Great way to prep for A+ exam. Bye bye all!!

You have mentioned that you are wanting to file a class action lawsuit. I am wanting to join this. I have posted many items due to the way Smart Certify is trying to screw me over. I would like to be contacted by you if possible.
