SPECTECH Aka Laser Property Inspections ripoff! Rude, Nasty, Liar! Home Inspection Fraud to Consumers licensed in Arizona and Recommended by the Arizona Board of Realtors. Phoenix Arizona
My Mother bought a house based on the recommendation and clean bill of health on the house she purchased. She is recently widowed and depended on the reliability of their work. She needed a house right away while I was out of the country and I even gave her steps to follow, which I believed would actually help prevent the exact situation in which she finds herself.
I have now returned and had the opportunity to check out the house upon receiving a distressed call from her that things were going badly in her new house. I have now had some estimates of things which MUST be fixed and find that the repairs will cost her in the vicinity of $12k -$15k.
I was hot and called the inspectors who claim that they are not responsible for the repairs on things they missed. They further explained that the contract my Mother signed will NEVER hold them responsible and that all they are obligated to do is refund the fee is she is not satisfied. In short, they do not guarantee their work, despite the fact that they advertise that they are licensed by the State of Arizona and recommended by the Arizona Board of Realtors, which I suspect is nothing more than a fiduciary relationship in order to promote their business.
I will never trust the recommendations of the Better Business Bureau again. They advised me to check these things out and it turns out that it makes no difference.
I am pursuing this matter by every means necessary and will keep this site updated on the progress of this matter. I am going to contact the home office which is apparently in Atlanta, GA to see what they say, but was told by their Phoenix representatives that there is nothing that we can do because they had the best attorneys craft this contract.
