Joined the Free Spirit club on 16 Feb 2013. Did fly using the membership for a few times, I used to live in Arizona at the time and Spirit had service between Dallas-phoenix. I moved to Boston and the frequency isn't half as good and the fares not as lucrative as other airlines, so stopped using the Spirit for travel.

Aproximately 8 months from the last time I travelled with Spirit I see a charge of 59.95 on my credit card. I was shocked to see the charge as I was convinced that it was a fradulent activity on my account. To my surprise it was a charge that Spirit charges to renew the club membership, apparently its in the fine print of the terms and conditions. 

I am sure I am not the first and I am surely not going to be the last. This is a scam and I will be reporting to better buisness bureau too. I only wished to have the membership for 1 year, but I am being forced to renew the membership. They are still running this unethical scam, but still remaining in accordance with the law as the paper they claim to have, has members signed up for life unless stated otherwise(member signs up thinking they signed up for a year not life). One person can't stand against a huge airline like Spirit, but I am sure I am not alone.

I just read someone else getting scamed in the same way. I urge anyone else who is scammed in the same way to contact one another and lets get together and approach a lawer for a class action lawsuit against Spirit and their unethical antics to scam people out of money.

My email address is (((REDACTED))). I don't know if its worth the effort for 60 bucks but it just doesn't seem right and I wish to make them pay, I know there are thousands of us who just let go, I don't wish to. 

I am an Engineer with a pharmaceutical and tomorrow I will be contacting my firms lawyers, I will know better then.

I have contacted the airlines, I was told that a Supervisor would be calling me I still haven't yet received a call.

Whatever be the case I will be pursuing this to either get a refund or to escalate this to highest authority I possibly can.
