Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
In October 2012, we contacted Splinters Woodworks asking them to custom build a tribute to our recently passed-away pet.  Dave Mitchell, owner, agreed to complete the project for us after receiving drawings from us.  He initially said he would need a couple of weeks.

After waiting nearly 3 months, we contacted Dave Mitchell, owner, again for an update on our project.  This is when the excuses started.  He said he needed until January 2013 to complete the project.  We politely agreed and waited some more.  We hadn't heard anything by mid-February 2013 so we contacted him again.  He gave us excuses again.  We gave him the opportunity to decline the order but he assured us he wanted to do the project and he'd soon get it done.  We waited again.

It is now April 20, 2013 -- a full SEVEN MONTHS after the order was placed -- and he NOW notifies us he no longer wants the project!!

This "company" is VERY unprofessional.  To lead a customer on with excuses and lies for 7+ months is inexcuseable.  He could have politely declined and we would have foud another, more professional person or company to do the work.  Instead, he strung us along, giving us nothing but false hope, excuses and lies.

Our warning to other companies and individuals is:  find another woodworker.  This man / company will not supply what they promise.  They will lie to you, string you along, and disappoint you in the end.

I have no less than 5 e-mails from you constantly claiming how "sorry" you are that "your order" and "your project" can't be done, and how we should be patient because you'll get to it soon.  So to rebutt that we didn't place an order is just a lie.  As far as money, we asked for a price and you delayed that as well.  The ripoff you perpetrated was to string us along for months and months, telling us you'd "get to it soon" when you actually had NO INTENTION OF GETTING IT DONE.

I want other people to know that you can not be trusted, that you make excuses and that you SHOULD NOT be trusted BEFORE they give you money.  If you'll pull this kind of scam BEFORE they give you money, how many excuses will you make AFTER they give you money?  Don't let yourself be taken in, people.  BEWARE!

No ripoff occurred, client never completed the ordering process as outlined on my website.

Splinter's Woodworks is a small shop providing custom wood projects and we strive very hard to address the needs of all our clients.

Before beginning the project for any of our potential clients, we require them to place 50% down when the order is placed and accepted. In this case, you never properly placed the order with the 50% down to begin the order and project process as specified on my website. There was never a request for a quote, nor was a quote ever given on this project.

It must be made clear that I did not ask for money nor did I receive any money for any project from you.

While I regret any confusion you have had in understanding how the order placement and process works, your charges are without merit. In order for Splinter's Woodworks to have ripped you off, money would have had to been taken from you. But as of this date, no money has been taken from you nor has an order been officially placed.
