I want to say to start off with that I also have had Sprint for years (though not as many as you). I have had lots of billing problems over the years but i always wrote it off as they were just stupid, not deceptive. After reading into them on this website, I'm starting to change my perception a little. I stayed with them as long as I did because I had Nextel and no one's walkie talkie service compared, and when I called they fixed my bills. I recently went to a Blackberry on their Sprint network (not Nextel) and probably will go with a different carrier when my contract ends since I don't need the walkie talkie anymore. I know you've been with them for so long, but if you're sure the only reason you don't leave them is your phone number, that's not an issue anymore. They have this thing called "number porting" now. You can take your phone number with you to another carrier. I can take up to 2 weeks sometimes to transfer over, but myself and 2 family members have done it, and it took under a day for it to take effect. I would call up the new carrier and explain you want to port your number from Sprint, then call and cancel Sprint, explaining to THEM also you are porting your number. It alot better than staying with a carrier because so many people have your number. By the way, I am in FL, but it was a federal law that was passed allowing number porting, so it has to be available in CA too.
