Stellar Flooring, Owners: Joes Smith And Larisa Davis have knowing deceived us by collecting $3000 knowing full well that they have no intention installating our fall. Winter Garden, Orlando Florida
I first contacted Stellar Flooring on 7/7/08 by filling out some questionnaires online and also called their Golden Rod office, where I spoke with Aida who scheduled an appointment with Joe Smith (the owner of the company).
The first visit by Joe Smith to our house was on 7/21/08. He did some measurements and he brought in some samples of both PREGO and Carpets. He left some of the samples and scheduled another appointment to bring some more samples on 7/25/08, which he did.
After several visits to their office and lot of deliberations, my husband and I decided to go with Hard Wood Floor. We signed a contract with Joe on 9/8/08 in my house and we gave him a check for $1000.00 as a deposit on that same day, and installation was set up for 11/29/08.
On 11/19/08, Aida informed us that an additional $2000.00 deposit is required for them to start installation on 11/29/08. She then sent Jackie to our residence, who picked up the additional $2000.00
On the 29th of November, 2008 we waited the whole day and nobody showed up for installation. We called on 11/29/08, 11/30/08, 12/1/08 with no answer. We called Joe's cell phone, Aida's cell phone, the office number, we sent e-mails; and nobody called us back nor answered our e-mails.
On 12/2/08 we were able to find out that they had another office in Winter Garden, so we decided to go over there to see what was going on. When I got to the office, I met Jackie and I explained everything that was going on to her. She called Joe while I was standing there and I requested to speak with him but he did not want to talk to me. They promised me a refund within 3 to 5 business days but they did not.
Since then we have had several conversations with Jackie because Joe Smith (the owner of the company) refused to talk to us till today. We sent a registered mail to them that we would love to resolve this issue amicable without involving the court but they ignored us.
Joe Smith and Stellar Flooring have knowing deceived us by sending Jackie to our house on 11/19/08 to collect $2000.00 knowing full well that they have no intention to start installation on 11/29/08. This is deceitful and Joe Smith and the Company has taken $3000.00 of our money and refused to talk to us. We do not want to do any business with this company as they have breached the contract and essentially fraudulent.

The Attorney General's Economic Crime Division in Orlando has the case. Albeit a Civil case I heard a criminal investigation is under way.
