Steve Hanford Cabinets Bad workmanship, HORRIBLE installation, NO honor of warranty, Bad Business Practice Old Saybrook Connecticut
Steve Hanford comes off as a nice guy in the beginning. But he takes large "payments" for the cabinets he is building for you, then dumps them at your house with an idiot to install them incorrectly. The workmanship on many of the cabinet doors was horrible. When confronted on this issue and directly asked to replace these badly done doors, he simply disappeared with our money.
He also delivered a set of cabinets that were not stained the color that we, the homeowners, had chosen in his office several weeks prior to the cabinets being done.
He made a covert decision to stain the doors an entirely different color, then when the homeowner complains about it upon delivery he slyly states, "oh...let me install them and live with it for a week or so and then see if you like it...."
This is another way of saying, "Sucker!"
He is a liar but a very smooth liar. Does not skip a beat.
He took a lot of money from us only to deliver a shoddy set of cabinets that were supposed to be high end.
We had to hire a separate carpenter to re-do a number of the cabinets, and I, THE HOMEOWNER, had to sand down and re-stain my own cabinets that I had already paid in full to be professionally done.
Unacceptable.
