This company uses Entertainment Book (A coupon book that the consumer buys)to advertise in and offering coupons to attract new consumers. In specific the coupon I tried to use was for a buy one get one free green fee.

I went in on Tuesday Nov, 4th about 10:00 am. Ted was working the counter and I had told him I would like a round of golf for one. I showed him the coupon and he laughed at me and told me that I couldn't use the coupon, he informed me that it had to be for two people. I told him that it didn't have any stipulation on the coupon...it simply read valid anytime. He laughed at me again and said that wasn't how the coupons worked it was aimed to get two people in at once, and that no golf course does that the way I was stating. I then informed him that actually they had at other golf courses. (Which I called entertainment book and they said I was in the right and that they would address the compliance issue with them.) He then handed me back my debit card and told me to leave.

I told him I wanted to speak to the manager and he told me no. I asked the Managers name and he told me he wasn't going to give me the name. He then threatened to call the police on me, and told me to leave again. (without ever raising my voice and in a manner of a minute from entering the door this all happened, over a coupon.)

My questions are...

Why so quick to throw me out?

And was I being discriminated against for using the coupon or some other reason I don't know.

My feelings were hurt, and I have never been more insulted in my life. I would have stayed and fought it and waited on the police and manager, but some more people entered and I didn't want this guy to ruin more than one persons day.

Consumer's Desired Resolution:

From the moment I showed the guy the coupon he laughed at me and insulted me, and alter when my wife called he laughed at her and insulted her.Seeing as I love to play golf and have only recently moved to the area...I now will have to drive out of town and much further from the course that is only a half mile from my house. I feel like the relationship that I could have with this company is near beyond repair. I certainly never want to have to lay eyes on Ted again, and if he employs people like him that insult customers and threaten to call the cops on them at the drop of a hat. Then he is going to lose a lot of business.

Preferably I would want Ted removed from his position so I could go without ever chancing the confrontation again, and so that he doesn't insult any other customers. If he is unwilling to do that...I would like a specific reason of why I was discriminated against. Threatened. Insulted. and all without ever raising my voice, or calling him a name, and only trying to use a coupon THAT they offered. When I say I was there for about 2 minutes that is the whole time I was there..no more, and maybe less. Whatever way that they can make this go away and try to salvage a relationship with a customer that lives so close and has kids in the community, and will by word of mouth spread how awful I was treated...will have to be more than the weak apology I received (bragging on how good of an employee Ted is)..and the cart fee and range balls.I would have liked some sort of semblance that they would have valued me as a customer, and wanted to cultivate a relationship.

Instead I was ridiculed, laughed at, insulted, and thrown out.I feel discriminated against but don't know why I would be, but people can't just treat other people like this and have no reprocussions. It has bothered me more than I thought something like this would and I will do whatever it takes to get some sort of satisfaction and retribution.Thank you for your time.

I totally agree with Jason! The owner of SPGC is a loose cannon a bit crazy. He has anger/rage issues I have seen him go off on customers and kids if they don't agree with him, i understand he does what happened to you jason all the time. I have also heard of many others that have had issues. If kids from the surrounding neighborhood happen to ride a bike or skateboard onto the course on golf paths, he will scream and  yell at the kids I mean 5 to 10 year old kids that don't need a 40 year old screaming at them he will then take their bike or skateboard from them and then when the parents come to pick the item he goes off on them. If the local high school had a different option I understand they would take it the guy gives the coach nothing but headaches from what I hear. The  funny part is if you have not been to the course the course is in the middle of neighband with an A+ elementary school down the street, and lots of 5 to 10 year olds and this guy clearly does not like kids.

As for the course he is making some repairs but until recently you needed a 4x4 just to get around the course the cart paths needed repairs bad and one side of the course still does. The parking lot flat out sucks do not take an expensive car to this place. if you want to use the driving range before you play good luck about 80% of the time they have no balls for you to hit. To lazy I guess to go pick any up, the nets on the range are torn and look horrible. Not to mention you need a 4x4 to get to the range.  Overall don't waste your money this guy is soooo lucky the course has great veiws anywhere else and he would be out of biz.

Stewart Peninsula GOLF COURSE has been my place to place golf for years. The golf course has always been in great shape and with the most beautiful views in the MetroPlex. The owner Brandon has always been nice and very accommodating. He helped my little son with his fear of golf and I always bring my family (who are avid golfers) here to play some quality golf when they are in town. I don't know this Ted employee but you need to give them an extra chance...you will be missing out of some great golf with a bunch of great personalities at the course! Jason you may be talking about Frisco Lakes the golf course up the street ... they may have a TED. Martha

My name is Steve and I have been visiting Stewart Peninsula Golf Course for 5 years. The owner Brandon is a very freindly business owner who has done many great improvements to the course along with being a great leader in the community (you can call the city manger, mayor ect and get the same answer). I don't now this Ted empoyee but I can assure you that Brandon will not have him around long if he did what this guy says he did. STEWART PENINSULA GOLF COURSE is a great place to play with beautful view. I urge this customer to get them another try or they will be missing out on a great course for an even better price! They get awards from Dallas Morning News and Avid Golfer all the time.
