Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I noticed that I posted this under the site Stores Online - (2 words) and I want to make sure everyone else sees it that describe Storesonline as 1 word. so... here's my complaint. You know what SOL means don't you? I'm sure that's what they think about us.

Stores Online is a Rip-Off! I've reported them to the Utah BBB and the BBB said that Stores Online never contacted them concerning my complaint. That figures! Yes, (First) I tried to get my $500.00 down payment refund via Stores Online myself. I received a form letter response. I'm sure it's a form letter since they have so many complaints against them. I interpreted their email response to me as saying: "HAHA you're a fool and we stole your money"!!

I attended their free 90 min Seminar in San Antonio Tx in August 2002. I then went to their free all day workshop the next week. Stores Online is guilty! They mis-represented their product. I trusted them to help me build a website storefront. Everyone there was gung-h*o when we left. We had less than 30 minutes at the end of the workshop to make a final decision with the information we were given that day. We were told that if we did not sign up then and there that we would definitely lose out on this so-called adventure since the offer wouldn't be available again. This was PRESSURE. Either use it or lose it!

I was determined that I was going to be successful with it. I had developed a couple of websites on my own before, so I figured this would be a breeze. Mr. John Poelman told the entire workshop that the Stores Online Software is so user friendly that people with no computer knowledge what-so-ever could use it with no problem. NOT!!! That was a lie.

They mis-represented the product right there!! The packet CD they give you is defective. I AM computer literate. This software was NOT user friendly at all. They fix it so you'll have to end up calling their support for assistance so they can charge you more $money$...or they wait until you get sooo frustrated that some will pay Stores Online to build the storefront for them. When I called support about my defective CD they said that their software does not work well with AOL - Oh yeah? Why not? The representative just laughed and said they don't know why...but it just doesn't. What a kick in the Pants!! So, why weren't the AOL users told this at the seminar before we paid into it? There's Mis-Representation of their product again! Or in short - FRAUD.

This is really the kicker. 3 days after the workshop I received a phone call from Kevin from Merchant Services Department of Stores Online. He was asking me a lot of personal financial questions. I knew that something was not quite right. He wanted to know if I had more money to invest in Stores Online, and if I did, how much did I have at the moment? He wanted to know if I had a savings account. He asked for my social security number. He asked about my credit history and asked if I could invest into the company for additional consulting, etc... in order to make my online business successful.

Excuse me? but the workshop participants were not informed of any extra purchases we'd have to make in order for our potential business to even become slightly successful. It was never mentioned in the workshop that more investment fees would be needed to succeed. I can't believe that Kevin of Stores Online had the audacity to call me (and doubtless many others from the workshop) to ask these personal financial questions.

I can't believe that a company runs its business in this manner using these undesirable tactics. I asked why he was asking me these questions? I told him that Stores Online approved my credit before I left the seminar, so my credit status had already been checked. This type of information was none of his business. I was insulted. He said it would benefit me if I could invest more into this adventure right away.

Stores Online is a huge disappointment. It mis-represented it's services and does not deliver the works as proposed in the workshop. It practices unprofessional tactics to extort extra money from it new particpants as soon as they are signed on.

All I want is my $500.00 back. I paid this money so I could bring in an income for my family and then Stores Online screws me! To me, I paid for services NOT rendered. Everything they promised was a lie. I will continue to contact BBB.

$500.00 may not seem like a lot to Stores Online or to some people, but IT IS TO ME. Here I am trying to better myself, to make an income and then Stores Online takes advantage of me. Stores Online STOLE my money. BEWARE of Stores Online. They should be called Store OFFline. Someone needs to close this RACKET down and the sooner the better~~~~~

The BBB seems to think that the consumers don't understand

Thank you for the information. I just updated my BBB complaint tonight concerning Stores Online being a RIPOFF! Next is the Attorney General's Office in Texas and also the office of the Consumer Credit Commissioner. I will also contact Kent Nelson, the Utah investigator. That's good information. The BBB seems to think that the consumers don't understand the nature of the Stores Online business? (That's what SOL has the the BBB believing). SOL talk their way out of the BBB complaints with their lies!! See? They fell for it too! It's the BBB that doesn't understand that Stores online is a ripoff fraud business. They need to know that WE, the consumers, DO know what the SOL business is "SUPPOSED" to do, it's just that they DON'T DO IT!!! I don't know if it was proper, and at this point I really don't care....SOL hasn't done anything PROPER----- but, I made sure the Utah BBB had the RIPOFFREPORT.com link. You know....just in case they are curious? Hope so.

#3Consumer Suggestion

Fri, June 27, 2003

StoresOnline is still up and running possibly thieving money and getting away with it. The BBB report is grossly inaccurate. They make this look like a corporation of princes. Write now Kent Nelson a Utah Investigator is currently handling the case. He is with the Division of Consumer Protection, in the Herber Wells Building, second floor, 160 East 300 South-SM 146704, Salt Lake City, Utah, 84114, Phone again: 801-530-6601, now the FAX: 801-530-6001. There are two especially resourceful reports posted here at Rip-off.com, dated June 17, 2003. Enter keyword: Storesonline or Category: On-line stores. Scroll down to the dates I posted. As of today there are 79 entries, and more at other consumer sites. You can get good information. There are consumers at this web site and others who would like to ban together and form a class action lawsuit to shut this rip-off down. The other site is: www.thesqueakywheel.com. Information is submitted by Alice Wisdom, this is a public message board type name. She asks that anyone email her, because she wants everyone to ban together. You can review her article specifically through: http://www.the squeakywheel.com/complaints/complaint2248.cfm Her name is hyper-linked so that you can email her directly at that site. I might be missquoting and it's a risk I'm willing to take in that the BBB seems to think consumers do not understand the nature of this business. Consumers want what they paid for and are a little more intelligent, than BBB imagines. We have to keep in mind though they are not a ruling entity, and you can buy your reputation. Some of the others in your situation still insist on filing their reports with the BBB. It can't hurt. To review what BBB has in their Reliability Reports access: http://www.saltlakecity.bbb.org/ This is just a one year old business. The Principal CEO is Mr. John Poelman, his phone: 801-434-8582. The address you provided is constistant, but to be on the safe side here are their alias names to watch out for: Galaxy Mall, Inc., Imergent Inc.--other phones: 801-227-0004,801-226-8848(FAX), 800-373-3090. It is also important for you to contact your General Attorney Mr. Gregg Abbot, 512-463-2100, Capital Station, P.O. Box 12548, Austin, TX, 78711-2548 or access site: http://www.oag.state.tx.us Hope this helps.
