We were quoted approximately $750 for our move. The fee ended up being $2400, including a gas surcharge that had not been mentioned and "materials" like tape and 5 cardboard boxes, for which we were charged $344. We had even done them the favour of changing the date move, for which Nick Rucci, the "owner" had called himself, the day before the scheduled move so it would save them time and money. The driver Trevor gave me a nasty look when I tipped him $50 dollars, all we could afford since we work minimum wage jobs and the fee was triple what we had expected to pay.
My husband's bike did not arrive, and neither did a large box containing our cd collection, a computer monitor and some small items. We were eluded over and over again by Nick, who was rarely there, rude when he was, and never called back when he wasn't. The insurance company was supposed to reimburse us, but after 3 months, we received no word. We called Nick back, and he was "surprised" that we had not been contacted by the insurance company. He contacted them, told them our losses (app $5200). He informed us that we would get $1100, barely 20% of the value of our belongings. we faxed him informing the company that the amount was far too low, and we've called several more times, but the numbers we have are now, as of 2 weeks ago, "temporarily out of service."
