We purchased a Belgain Malinois puppy from this breeder for $1320.  The first week home w/ the puppy it was evident that his aggression was well beyond typical puppy play/biting.  He continually attacked our older dog making her bleed, our kittens, a friend and myself.  He was a beautiful puppy but we were clearly not the right family for him.  It broke my hear, but we contacted the breeder and explained our situation and asked if he would consider taking the puppy back and finding him a suitable home with one of the other customers they were working with.  He agreed and stated that he would refund our money, minus $100 for boarding the puppy until he could be shipped to the new owner in Georgia.  We returned the pup off on June 27th with food and some of his favorite toys and was told we would be contacted early the next week to arrange the refund and signing the AKC papers over to them.  Nearly a month later, we have still not received our money and the breeder is insisting that we hand over ownership papers before they will pay us.  We keep getting put off - twice they've responded via text saying they are out of town and will get with us at a later date and then we never hear from them.  Our calls go unreturned.  In written correspondence (email/text), we have offered to make the exchange in person - a money order/cashier's check in exchange for the signed papers - but they refuse and insist we mail the papers, signed over to them, before they will pay us.  They have since sold the dog to someone else and hence have received nearly $3000 for this one puppy.  I'm not sure how the new owner will receive the papers, we are happy to initiate the transfer, but cannot until we receive the money owed us.  When we received the AKC papers in the mail after the purchase, the papers state that we cannot register any of the offspring of this dog.  We didn't purchase him with the intent of breeding but had no idea that this restriction was part of the sale.  Completely secondary to the whole fiasco but I would think not every buyer of an expensive breed would assume this restriction would be placed on them as part of the sale/transfer.  When I asked the breeder about this, they indicated that this is the restriction they put on the sale (without discussing it with us) and that only they could approve breeding him and register any offspring.  Again, we were only interested in a family pet that would be loyal and protective, as this breed is known for, but it clearly seems like an additional misleading this breeder is simply ok with. Unethical business practices.

Debra Wilson did purchase a puppy from Stronghold K9,LLC. We spent 2 days telling her this puppy may not be the best fit for her. By no means was the puppy aggrssive. It was a malinois. Debra had posted several pictures of the puppy on her facebook page until she decided after a few days that she no longer wanted to assume responsibility for her decision to purchase the puppy. Announcing their purchase of the pup, etc... She has since removed the pictures due to someone may see that she is not being honest.. After her first visit, Debra went home and debated this purchase with her husband. She had plenty of time to make a responsible decision as an adult. She still chose to purchase the puppy with a full understanding that there was no refunds. We did offer to replace the puppy with another puppy from a different litter and she rejected our offer. After a long conversation with Tim, her husband, we agreed to help her sell the puppy to the proper home, as long as she returned the dog with his paperwork. That would ensure that when we sold the puppy to the new buyer, there would be no issues. The buyer was not buying a puppy from Debra Wilson, but from Stronghold K9,LLC. Her husband returned the puppy, but held the paperwork hostage. I assured them that I could not sell the puppy without the paperwork. That just would not be good business for anyone. Debra persistently said the new buyer could contact her for the paperwork. It was not her place to deal with any buyer, due to she was not selling the puppy, I was. Debra has a major control issue. She felt it was her place to dictate how we run our business, while doing her a favor. Even after her irresponsible decision as an adult to purchase the puppy. Debra then starting sending threatening emails and text messages that she will ruin our reputation if we did not do as she wanted. Debra has filed many false reports on the internet about Stronghold K9,LLC. We told her to mail the paperwork certied and we would send her a refund and she still redued. Anyone can validate on the BBB website, she filed a complaint there but was not willing to accept any terms but her own. The BBB ruled that Stronghold K9, LLC made several fair offers as a faith of good business and restitution, but Debra refused unless things were done her way. She also went to the AKC and the working dogs website, which arbitrated the issues and ruled in favor of Stronghold K9,LLC.
