Yesterday I attended one of the high-pressured sales pitches and couldn't wait to search the company when I got home. Needless to say, I was not surprised to find all of these complaints listed when I seached Sundance.

My story is almost comical at the lengths this company goes to get you to spend thousands of dollars. Read carefully---

I received the infamous call from the company saying that I was chosen for a 2 night/3 day stay in either Reno, Vegas or Orlando... the only string attached was that I had to give them 60 min of my time, no more. I agreed and attended with my fiance. I was extremely skeptical from the starts as I was raised to know NOTHING in this world is free and if it is, its illegal or fraudulent. So we sat in on a 45 min sales pitch from a guy that appeared to be high on cocaine he was so d**n hyper. He was VERY good at what he did and made everything sound so simple and affordable. (keep in mind that my mind was made up in advance that i would not be buying anything)

So towards the end of his pitch, he hits a buzzer on the wall which is letting all of the "other" sales men and women know that his pitch is over. It was almost like a cattle call- the room was RUSHED by 15+ sales people yelling out names and holding up signs with names (like you are in an airport terminal).

We now entered a room decorated in palm trees, beach balls, loud tropical music and more to entice the weak. My fiance and I reluctantly sat with another sales men who proceeded to break down packages and offer a ONE TIME only deal... my fiance and I politely declined and explained that it all sounds very appealing however financially we couldn't do it right now as we are buying a house and paying for our own wedding. The salemen politely acknowledged our refusal to purchase a package and said that we had to speak to the general manager to claim our free prize and that he would want to make sure that we understood all of the terms and agreements. So, AGAIN- we were to meet with yet ANOTHER person...

The new sales man still tried to get us to finance a package with no money down and a low monthly cost- comparing the cost to our cable bill... he wouldnt take no for an answer....

Now off to yet ANOTHER salesman---

My fiance and I were placed in a quiet room and left waiting- obviously this was another tactic in the hope that we would talk amongst ourselves and reconsider. The funny thing was, my fiance actually started buying in and I had to stand firm. We then were walked into the HEAD HONCHO'S office where he closed the door behind us. We couldn't help but notice that the room was very dim lit and there was aroma therapy also in the air---

Now I am beyond pissed off seeing right through their sharade, 2.5 hours later.

We were offered yet ANOTHER package that the other sales associate couldn't offer us and declined again. FINALLY we were handed our travel voucher and left.

In reading the "fine print" on the voucher it says that the consumer is required to pay a $50 "good faith deposit" and all taxes. SO, basically- when all is said and done after you book your trip you will still have to pay taxes on the flight, the hotel and a $50 deposit. So this "free" trip will come with an out of pocket up front cost of at least $125.

I would be VERY curious to hear from consumers that have gone on this trip....

DONT WASTE YOUR TIME!!

I just have a few things to say to this. Number one if you weren't told about the taxes and the deposit before you got there then someone didn't do their job, it is in the script that the marketers are supposed to follow and for that I apologize. you also realize though that as soon as you take the trip the deposit gets refunded back to you so it isn't really an out of pocket expense. This happens because we don't ask you for credit card information. Any hotel you book requires a credit card or check beforehand to hold the room for you. That way if you don't show they don't get screwed out the money for the room, (if you have spent any time traveling you would know that). Number two, you got a vacation with a value of over 600 dollars and all you have out of pocket are the taxes and you are complaining. I want your vacation! I know people who have come in for it and used it and had a really good time on it. The trip is fully transferrable so if you dont' want it send it my way. Honestly, people are so greedy it is astounding. You do realize that if we didn't make you pay the taxes when you booked the trip you would have to claim it as winnings on your income tax at the end of the year, (everything over 500 dollars is supposed to be reported) and you would have to pay taxes on it anyway, and a hell of a lot more than just sales taxes, (look up the winnings taxes sometime). We SAVED YOU MONEY and you are here complaining about it! Unbelievable!
