I also purchased a Sunlight Sheds Speaker Cabinet.
It arrived looking fine - though the damages were hidden within the cheap black
plastic garbage bag housing with a super flimsy corrugated 1/8" cardboard
covering.
When I removed the 'protective' covering I found the top left side had knocked
out two big splinters from the cheap particle board frame. I carefully picked
through the debris and tried to locate the pieces (thinking I could glue them
back) - they were NOT THERE - THIS, to me, means this damage was done at their
'factory' and shipped with FULL KNOWLEDGE that they were sending a faulty
product.
Both sides of the unit were almost detached from the center frame and were
hanging on by one or two wood dowels that, quite obviously, were not glued
in... AT ALL.
The pump, bubbler, plant container etc. were cheap crap that you could purchase
at a 0.99 cent store (the kind you'd purchase for a cheap kiddies aquarium).
All they did was Mylar the hell out of some pieces like we're supposed to
believe that this was REAL protective against the heat that the thing would
generate... NOT!
The thing just wobbles when you try to stand it upright.
There was no Moon Dust fertilizer, though, it was checked off as inspected and shipped.
No internal working speaker was included, yet, it was checked off as inspected and shipped.I got an email confirmation BEFORE PURCHASE from Larry that the unit would receive a FREE UPGRADE from MH lighting to the new LED lighting NOT! The unit arrived with the MH Lamp and ballast.
I took pictures and sent them a lengthy email immediately they did not respond for over a week.
When Larry finally responded, he apologized and claimed the unit WAS inspected at the factory before shipping and advised me to file a complaint with the freight company (which is their BS standard procedure to place blame on the shipping company).
He said they would send out the Moon Dust and LED PRIORITY well, a week and a half later I sent another email inquiring where is the Moon Dust and LED lighting unit.
NO RESPONSE finally, after another period of pure frustration, I receive an illiterate email from the customer service person, Janelle, telling me they are sorry but they have a custom problem and are expecting the LED lights any day now (how about that!)
This means, they KNOWINGLY LIED TO ME THAT MY UNIT WOULD CONTAIN THE LED LIGHTING UPGRADE they didnt even HAVE LED lights, obviously, they were coming into the US externally and were stuck in Customs (a custom problem).
They finally shipped the LED and Moon Dust via UPS (which took another week+) but by that time I was not amused and REFUSED DELIVERY.
I decided, THATS ENOUGH of this rot and filed a DISPUTE with American Express.
It is being investigated at this time. American Express has NEVER let me down. I have only filed 3 or 4 disputes and every single time the judgment was awarded in my favor and the company Im disputing with, must also PAY the dispute fees regardless of outcome (which is why so many shady companies only take Visa/MasterCard).
I would advise anyone NEVER to purchase from this ripoff company.
Do yourself a favor, purchase the items yourself and purchase the best components you can afford.
Sunlight Sheds will do NOTHING to help you.
They are the type of ripoff company that gives internet trade a big BLACK EYE.
Dont get yourself punched out by these thieves!

We respond to all customers in a prompt manner. We are available via phone M-F 9am-5pm EST. We would NEVER ship a product damaged, and in addition it clearly states to FULLY INSPECT GOODS PRIOR TO SIGNING AND CHECK FOR ANY DAMAGE. We cannot help if the freight carrier dented the product, however we would have and still will be more than happy to assist with a freight claim. If the goods were inspected and refused at the door they could have been sent back for either a full refund or immediate re-shipment, as is our standard policy. In addition the units have been attached to a 'Kill-A-Watt' meter which measures the exact power draw for each unit, and everything is as described 425.326watt draw, which is the equivalent of 4-5 standard light bulbs.
