I called to reserve 2 rooms for june 18-19 at the cambridge super8motel. At that time I told the lady we would be arriving late and we would need 2 cribs, she replied-no problem.

Upon arrival we asked for the cribs because the babies(1&2 yr. old)were very tired. Same lady that I talked to for reservation said they had no cribs, probably no motels around did.

They advertise that cribs are free. We had to go find a 24 hr. store so we could buy 2 pac n plays. This was necessary for their safety.

I asked the lady next morning if she would like to buy them to have for future guests. She declined.

The carpets were so dirty that the children couldn't be on the floor, their feet and knees were black. The beds were like sway back horses and the plumbing was loud.

I did write to cendant with these complaints feeling that they would want to know since this is a franchise holder and reflects badly on all the super8's.

They must have turned it over to cambridge and they sent me a letter. Said they had cribs, just not asked for them often. That the carpets were clean and the mattresses like new.

So I e-mailed cendant about this ridiculous letter-ther was no addressment to me and no signature, very rude tone. I felt that they should investigate and handle the complaint at the corporate level.

They replied very nicely with apologies and after review of my concern I would receive compensation within one to two weeks.

Well, I did receive my compensation, a big $25.00. What does this compensate for? I will still keep bugging them and complain to appropriate places-like this one and maybe the bbb. Some one must police these motels.

i have been dealing with cendant's internet customer service and i thought she was really going to take care of the problem. well, i got compensation in the amount of 25 dollars. i was so insulted that i probably will not even cash the check. now she says that it would be in my best interest to contact the property directly. this is the same people who sent me a letter addressed to whom it may concern and denied everthing that i was complaining about. said that they had cribs, just not asked for often. well, we did ask and they said they did not have any. all i want is compensated for the pac n plays that we should not have had to buy. i doubt that the property will part with the $94.24 that we had to spend unnecessasarily. not the time and inconvenience of finding beds for a 1 &2 year old at midnite; i'm not asking a dime. this is how this problem is being handled, and i'm not satisfied at all. thank you all, you are a great place to be able to go for help. i wish i had read it before staying at super8.
