It,s to bad that you can't record a phone call while you drive.

My driver manager told me that I needed to log 57 mph to make a delivery time. He insisted that I wouldn't get a ticket from Oregon or California however D.O.T. personnel of these states disagree.

He also said that I shouldn't log fuel stops, inspections, etc. well I'm not going to write my own ticket and this is also against company policy. Now I'm sure alot of you have great driver managers, but alot of us don't.

When it snows my truck (Swift's) is slowing down. When I haven't got the hours to drive I'm shutting down. Swift will be getting their truck back in better condition than I got it.

So they can have my driver manager with his deniability drive it and not get his lay-over pay and pay tickets instead of earn money.

They write rules that they don't want you to follow, and then fire you if you break them. I've finally got home (he didn't like that) and I've already got a new job. They'll get their truck on Monday.

If you're having the same problems Quit the violations cost more than you'll get paid for the trip. Good luck and please be safe none of us want to die for Swift.

you know walt there was nothing wrong with you as a driver. if you read all the reporst on this site its a real shame. the one thing anyone with honesty can see is the makings of a real good trucking resource for drivers. i know that on an hourly basis concerning logs there is no way to drive and stay alive in the cab and be able to feed your self. even the d.o.t. knows that. you cant drive legaly on paper but you can drive safely. and when a dispatcher tells you your ok never believe them unless you know them very well. if your going to take risks walt then buy your owne truck and make your owne money, be your owne man so to speak. put your time in if you can do that without the click coming after you. oregon, california, missouri, ohio, these states are real hard on drivers. dont give up on the trucks just give up on the big companies.
