Spring 2009, at a t-mobil kyosk store located at a mall in RI,
a t-mobil service representative informed me that for a $200.00 fee, I could cancel my service contract with t-mobile, and swich to "month to month" service.
With no contract, I would be paying for for just a month's service, with no contract obligation, enabling me to pay for the phone only when I needed it.
Restoring the service for a "month to month" plan simply required me to pay, in advance, for a month of service.

I paid the $200.00 in cash to cancel my service contract with t-mobile, and switched to the "month to month" plan.
The transaction that day consisted of; me confirming my t-mobil account, signing some paper work, and then paying the money.

After that, I continued using my t-mobile phone as usual.

Later that year, I did not require the use of that cell phone, and for a period of about 5 months the phone service was turned off.

During the time the phone was turned off, I DID NOT RECIEVE A BILL FROM T-MOBILE....and I did not expect to recieve a bill from t-mobile, due to the fact that my plan was "month to month".

When I wanted to turn the cell phone back on, I went to the t-mobile store. I was then informed that I had a "past due" balence for the 5 months the phone service had been off.
I asked them why they hadn't sent me a bill to notify me. The representative responed that they had sent the bill to my old address.
Several times in the past, I informed various t-mobil representatives of my current address. On these occasions it appeared as though my address info was being updated, only to discover later on, that for some reason, they still had my old address as current. This address thing happened about 6 different times at least.

I was given a t-mobil number to call, to address the "past due" charges. I was informed that they could not see any of the details of my account because the account was past due. Therefore, they were not able to look at why I was being charged for service while my phone was off.

They said they could tell me nothing about any transactions on my account and or service plans I had.
They simply threatened me with the promise of a collection agency, and a bad reflection on my credit if I did not pay what they were asking.
