I AM NOT RACIEST, I AM AN AMERICAN BORN IN THE USA and I am tired of seeing all my favorite stores go out of business because of WAL MART and all the trashy immigrants I have look at every day of my life that should be shipped out of here as fast as they arrive. So take that and stick it where you want it, because I will go to Target, Family Dollar, 99 Cents Store, anywhere but WAL MART!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There have been other ROR filed against Target for this exact policy and these reports date back before 2008. Target had been getting hammered by people returning items that weren't bought at Target (items were returned in a Target box) or were defrauded in other ways by people trying to scam the store. Unfortunately, Target (and stores like it) run on very thin profit margins and to operate a store like Target requires they institute a policy such as needing a receipt for a return. When a company gets ripped off in the manner Target has been, then all customers suffer. I don't personally have a problem with Target requiring a receipt for its returns - it protects both the store and the customer (the customer is protected because the customer ultimately is refunded the correct amount in situations where the returned item subsequently goes on sale at a reduced price - in that case most stores would refund the sale price, not the purchase price). The policy is very clearly stated in their stores and have been for a while, so I'm not certain how they violate anyone's principles. If you shop there, you know the policy because it's there for you to see. If you don't know the policy, it isn't the store's problem. If you shop at any store - you need to know what your options are before you buy, not after.

Years ago, when my niece was little, I heard her say "Only poor people shop at walmat". A product of her parents and her faulty upbringing. Fastforward years later, with a college degree and a job waiting tables, she shops at walmart . My how the mighty fall. Karma.

If this is what rip off report is, then I'm out. This is childish and stupid. I filed this for informational purposes only. Not to chit chat back and forth with people who get ugly and are themselves being very trashy!!!! Shop wherever you want! I'm telling anyone to not shop at Target. I was just telling about my experience. GROW UP PEOPLE AND GET A LIFE!!!

If you pay money and are not satisfied, the company should do it's best to make it's customers happy. It's called customer service! Not, company service. Would it have hurt Target one bit to exchange for a different color? That is the big question. No it would not have costed them a penny. Take one off the shelf, put one back. It's not rocket science. As far as we make it hard for you, Can a customer go anywhere anymore and get decent customer service? No because your too busy thinking about how hard your job is instead of thinking about how hard your making it for your honest and hard working customers! Who really keeps receipts? I guess if you shop at Target you will have to guard your receipt with your life!
