On December 9 of 2008 at 10:58 AM I proceeded to purchase the main Christmas gift for my girlfriend. She wanted a Nintendo DS console, so I made sure I secured one earlytrusting Targetdue to the forecasts that they would all be bought up quickly.

The woman in the electronics department at the Mission Valley store unlocked the cabinet and quickly rushed it over to the clerk at the register to quickly ring it up. I asked to look at it and she quipped that there wouldn't be a problem, and I could always bring it back.

On Christmas morning Penny opened her only present to find a previously opened, used, incomplete and broken piece of junk. The power switch was loose, broken, and the charger was missing. Needless to say, this really ruined our Christmas. Unfortunately, the prognostications were all correct, and no other units could be found. We went on-line, and traveled to various distant stores that listed them in stock, with no success for the next full week of our vacation, determined to replace the gift.

This was clearly either gross negligence and incompetence or an employee theft. In any case, even if the item had been returned, it ought to have been checked out before it went into your precious little locked cabinet. This was the first and last time I ever shop at Target. I am accustomed to better treatment and quality products. I seek no apology nor will I accept one. I hope your business goes bankruptyou certainly deserve it. You should all be ashamed of yourselves.
