get a new battery before you close the deal. Or walk at the first sign of rudeness. You may have got a good car anyway, maybe why they wouldn't budge on the price.
good luck.

"were promised that if the car continued to have battery problems after that day the dealership would replace it with a brand new one"
How long after purchase did they agree to honor that? One hour, one day, one week, one year, one mile, one hundred miles, one thousand miles? Did you get that guarantee in writing? Are you sure the problem is the battery? Possibility the alternator?
