I made a reservation for this hotel through price line, which is when the hotel then put a hold on my debit card for 238 dollars.

When I checked out of this hotel I asked if I could pay in cash and if so when the funds would be released. I was assured that the moment I checked out the hold on my funds would be released from my debit card.

I paid my bill in cash, in full, which I have a receipt for.

The next day I took note that the funds had still not been released and inquired at their front desk and was again assured that yes they had been released.

I contacted my bank card holder, and they informed me that the hotel had NEVER contacted them to release the funds.

I again contacted the hotel and they asked me for my banks number as well as mine and that they would personally contact the bank to have the funds hold removed and that they would contact me back.

They never released the funds and they never contacted me back.

I have sent numerous emails without response, come to find out that the email address for their customer relations dept has been disabled (wonder why?) and after much research found an email address for them, since obviously phone calls don't work. I finally received a response back, again that they would look into it.

The funds have still not been released and my bank has informed me that they were never contacted.

This hotel has not only shown the lowest regards for it's customers with their unacceptable behaviors, they have been considerably inconsiderate as to anything in regards to their customers and this has caused me a great financial hardship, especially in this economy. While 238 dollars might not seem like a lot to some, I am a single mother to 3 children who receives no child support, no assistance whatsoever, it is a lot to me, and has actually caused me to have to cancel going to work as I can now not afford to book another hotel to go to work, as for my work I have to travel.

This is completely unacceptable, and a disgrace that a hotel of this magnitude would actually rip off a customer, much less a single Mother to three. Shame on them!

No, I understand the terminology, completely.

I travel between 9-20 days out of the month for work. I understand the terminology completely. I also understand legally binding contracts.

When I checked out, the hotel and I entered into a verbal contract, that if I paid my bill in full with cash, they would in exchange, immediately lift the hold from my debit card.

I paid in full the amount due, in cash, where I then expected them to honor their part of the contract where they would release the hold on my debit card.

They have yet to do so. As I stated, I travel for work, I always use the same bank card fir all of my travels, my bank has never failed to release funds within an hour at the minimum to 24 hours at the maximum. My bank has told me, as of this time and date, 4 times that the hotel has still yet to contact them to release the funding.

It is not that my card is maxed out and I need to buy groceries. I actually have to be in another city other than the one I live in on Thursday (tomorrow) for work, and have had to cancel my photography shoot, which affects my incoming income to the tune of 1700 dollars because I cannot book my travel arrangements because they have not released the funds yet, which since I cannot access MY own money, and only they can, they have in essence charged me again.

My hotel booking was for 139 dollars a night, plus tax, I have now in total paid them 558 dollars for two nights stay.

Per their agreement with me, that they would release my funds immediately upon my payment in cash to them, and they have not done so, they have caused me hardship, loss of work, and in reality have charged me for a room as they have not released the funds.

Maybe it's not a lot to you, but due to being out if work several months for a serious head injury, it is a lot to me, which isn't even the point. They have failed to carry out their end of their agreement with me, which is unacceptable.

They have been contacted several times in regards to this matter, and I have been told every time that they have released the hold, yet my bank, who I have been dealing with for years, has stated that the hotel has NEVER contacted them to release the funds, and according to several other online review sites, I am NOT the first person that they have charged fraudulently.

There is a difrence between a hold and a charge to your card.

The hold is a guaranty that the funds will be available and it will expire in a set time unless the cartd is charged for that amount.

A charge is something you can fight.

I am going to guess someone tried to explain this and you didn't listen or your card is maxed out and you need that money to eat.
