I too had to deal with financial services which was a very RUDE department this time. They usually are very pleasant and always help out.
I had made previous arrangements with them because money was tight and I got cut from 40 hrs work week down to 25 hours IF I was lucky. Apparently I missed my "arrangement" by $40 so they started calling the 5th phone on my family plan (in which I have 8 phones total with Verizon). This person happens to be a family member that uses the phone for emergencies only, now why would they call that phone when I am the primary and the sole payor of the services?? So I call to ask why they were calling that phone instead of me to let me know that my 40 dollar obligation wasn't met, and they said they use a system that calls the lowest number numerically by the last 4 digits, uhm hello why the heck would you do that!?!!??!??! So they transfer me to financial services, and the man who answered the phone started of by saying, "I see that you are past due, how would you like to take care of it", my reply "I made prior arrangements, I have 3 more days to pay, but I was just calling to see why I wasn't getting the phone calls if I didn't meet this arrangement," his response"well if you would like to change subjects and have your phone shut off we can talk about that then", excuse me??? I am the customer and that was the SOLE purpose of my call was to straighten out so that I get all the calls regarding issues with my service. I ended up requesting a supervisor because this representative continued to talk over me and refuse to answer my simple question, he just kept saying I HAD to pay it or my phones will be shut off, over $40....all in all this experience was terrible, and after my year is up I am GONE to a company who cares!

Verizon does not do you any favors??? They are running a business which provides you wireless service. They do not have to give you any favors. While it would be nice if all companies did things to help everyone, they don't have too. Regardless of whether you have been a customer of theirs for 10 years. They provide you a service, which you pay for. In fact, if you have been with them for 10 years, you should definately know when your bill is due, and what happens if you pay late.
