I shop carefully and take advantage of rebates. The rebate process at TigerDirect is the most convoluted I have ever experienced. It's designed that way to minimize the number of rebates they are forced to honor.

In a recent purchase, I made a typo while entering my zip code at OnRebate. The mistake is frozen in their data base. There is no way for me to correct it. They will not correct it, either. It is not in their interest. That error allows them to keep my rebate.

OnRebate sent me this message: "The following requirements were not met: Conflicting Data. Your rebate was denied because the zip code from the rebate form does not match the invoice."

TigerDirect segregates itself from OnRebate to obfuscate the rebate process and confuse, or outright swindle and defraud, its customers. The OnRebate telephone number rings into an automated attendant with voice recognition, so even if you have a rotary dial phone, you cannot speak to a live person.

IF YOU DECIDE TO MAKE A TIGERDIRECT PURCHASE BASED ON THE PRICE AFTER REBATE, YOU MAY NOT GET THAT REBATE!

I will never buy a product from TigerDirect again.

General Observation and Question: Over the course of many years, I have noticed that most business scams come from companies based in Florida. Why is that?
