Went in there a while back...been meaning to do a review. So i thought i would check it out. I use the 3 keys of service for evaluating a food establishment. This involves; do they provide good food, good service, and a clean place to eat. I ordered a burger and fries, with a pop.
The food: Was so-so.
The service: Very lacking. The owner took my order, took a long time to serve it. After the meal was delivered no one followed up to see if everything was ok, or if i needed more drink (which i did). I would call this a total fail on service. This is the owners fault, not his staff. It also wasnt busy. No excuses.
Clean place to eat: When i placed my order for the pop, the owner brings me a cup with ice in it, and the pop can sitting inside the cup. This is cross contamination. The bottom of the can may have germs on it, if it does, the owner has placed the pop can bottom in the cup sitting on the ice. How redneck can you get. It's pop...serve it separate with the glass, not with can sitting in it.
Another employee used the same towel to clean the seats and the tables. This is another cross contamination issue. If someone had an accident in their pants, and the fecal or faeces made it to the material on the seat...that cloth that is whipping it, is now being used on the table top.
That can spread disease and germs. Its a huge cross contamination issue. What the owner should do if they wanted to practice good food safety, is have a sanitizer bottle, and two different coloured rags for cleaning. One colour for seats, one for table tops.
So let's recap, out of three basic criteria, this place got half a point on food, no point on service, and no point on cleanliness. They failed almost all three.
I doubt i will ever venture back there with what i saw. I think this establishment would greatly benefit with a visit from the health inspector. I felt ripped off!

You were not "ripped off." You had a bad experience at what sounds like a really badly-run eating establishment. Don't "feel" you should call the heath inspector, DO IT. And in the future, Go to Yelp! with stuff like this.
