Toyota Owners Take Action!! .....

To all Toyota Owners with UNRESOLVED problems:

You MUST send a CERTIFIED letter to Toyota to let it know about your problem. Ask for a return receipt. Toyota has said in the Toyota Sludge debacle that there simply aren't that many cases......BASED on the number of owner letters it has received. MAKE CERTAIN Toyota HAS YOUR CASE DOCUMENTED. Don't rely on a dealership work order....this is NOT how they track this information.

Network with other owners on-line and collect a database of facts. Contact the local media to cover your stories as a collective group. Gather local owners to do clips for consumer reporters. Contact Automotive News and tell your common stories to a reporter there.

In addition, have a few owners post a Toyota owner survey on this site. Ask other owners to come forward with their case details. You will get LOTS of owner feedback once you do this. Be prepared to keep track of it and USE it for the good of all.

You can act together. The current Toyota sludge-affected owners will assist if you like. We are NOT happy that we are blamed for "improper maintenance." WHY are these vehicles so "delicate????" This is ABSURD, as I am sure you will agree.

Let's sick together! It is HIGH TIME that the REGULATORY AGENCIES in this country WORK FOR THE CONSUMER! Demand that they do. File your reports as below and do NOT give up your fight for justice!!

Go to [the internet] to find a list of all the State Attorney Generals should you feel that laws are being violated in you or your group's case.

Toyota owners, a word of warning! There are currently many IRATE Toyota owners who are angry because Toyota originally made their new vehice warranties VOID when engine oil sludge was found. The "the owner is to blame because of improper maintenance" is a ploy that seems to be growing among the automakers. The "we have not seen a case where the vehicles were properly maintained" rhetoric is soundng like a broken record here AND at the Toyota page.

Let me say that after following vehicle problems in the Chrysler, GM, Honda, and Toyota, I am dumbfounded by the abuse of the automakers toward their "valued customers." It has GOT to stop. AND, the owners need to be speaking up LOUDLY and CLEARLY. Don't do it just here. Send Toyota a CERTIFIED letter with return receipt requested NOW....ASAP. The reason you need to do this is simple. The automaker will plead ignorance and say that owners simply haven't notified it. Also, you need to start a formal, written documentation on your vehicle. With all the current abuses, you'd be very unwise NOT to do so. Get a notebook and keep a good record.

Next, file your reports with the NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration) on-line or by phone. File reports at CAS (Center for Auto Safety) and the FTC. Get your problem documented EVEN IF there is a voluntary program by Toyota. IF there is a safety problem, do it sooner, not later.

Then, network with other owners. Get someone to keep a list for updates. Owners in numbers is the ONLY thing that will get the automaker's attention. These automakers HATE for owners to gather on-line and post their complaints. Trust me on this one. I have been stalked by those who wish to stamp out the posting on-line about MAJOR and WIDESPREAD problems which are WELL KNOWN to the automaker.

Let me know your progress. The Toyota V6 engine and the discontinued 4-cylinder engine are choking with SLUDGE at very low mileage. This situation is out of hand and owners are upset. The company came out with a program to repair the sludge (this only after a consumer revolt on-line), but some owners say they are STILL being blamed and denied coverage.

Good luck...report back.
