Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

My husband and I went to a presentation for a vacation club. For sitting through the presentation they gave us a travel reward. There are very specific instructions to follow in order to earn the reward.

This company intentionally lied and were very deceptive. They found a way not to honor their reward.

Instead of giving you a "certificate" at the presentation, they make you fill out a form and mail it in within 30 days. Then they mail you back a certificate. Fine. I did that. I filled out my form the day after we went to the presentation and mailed it immediately. Then I waited. And waited. Nothing ever came. I just figured they were slow, and I can't say I was surprised or alarmed.

Eventually I called them to ask when they were going to send the certificate.  They said they received my form and mailed out the certificate. I told them I never received it, could they email me a copy? They said they could not issue another certificate so I asked, "could you just tell me what was on it and I'll register online.  It would just be silly if the reward was cancelled due to a lost peice of mail." They said they had already sent it out, and my 30 day period was over. I missed it by 8 days. I said, "no. I did not miss my 30 day window, I mailed my form immediately!" They said they could not issue another certificate. I saked them if they could provide me with proof that they had mailed the certificate to me. She said she could not tell me anything other than the date they mailed it out and suggested that perhaps I lost it in my junk mail.

I told her I would be the latest person who files a complaint on Ripped Off. She said, "Okay. Thank you." and hung up.

We have attended a different vacation club presentation and all rewards were given at the time of the presentation. If this company was not a scam why wouldn't they issue the certificate at the presentation?

There is nothing that could be said that would make me believe they mailed that certificate to me. Total scam!

The worst part is my husband and I loved the presentation and were totally sold on how their vacation club worked and were totally interested in joining!...   Not now!
