When booking an airline ticket through a travel agency, 99% of the time, the travel agency is not charging your credit card. Look at your statement for the date that you purchased the flight, and you should have a charge from Northwest, with the ticket numbers listed on it. The airlines, not the travel agencies, set all rules, regulations, policies, procedures, and prices, regarding any information on your air reservation. The travel agency has no power to overrule the airline. If you do a search on NWA.com, and search for 'contract' in the bottom, you will get a contract of carriage. some interesting points in the contract: 1) WHOLLY UNUSED TICKETS IF A PASSENGER MISSES THE TICKETED TRAVEL DATE, THE PASSENGER IS REQUIRED TO SELECT A NEW TRAVEL DATE AND EXCHANGE THE TICKET WITHIN 90 DAYS AFTER THE ORIGINAL TICKETED FLIGHT. also: PRESENTATION OF A TICKET FOR TRANSPORTATION ON NW BY SOMEONE OTHER THAN THE PASSENGER NAMED THEREON RENDERS THE TICKET VOID. SUCH TICKET WILL BE SUBJECT TO CONFISCATION AND WILL BE INELIGIBLE FOR ANY REFUND. I) TICKETS ARE NOT TRANSFERABLE. FURTHERMORE, NW IS NOT LIABLE TO THE OWNER OF A TICKET WHEN PRESENTED BY ANOTHER PERSON FOR HONORING OR REFUNDING. also, listed on Travelocity at the time you book an airline ticket: Ticket is non-transferable. Once ticket is issued, it may not be reassigned to a different passenger or airline. Ticket changes may incur penalties and/or increased fares. Also, if you click on the link of "non refundable" What does "non-refundable" mean? (sic) In addition to not being able to obtain a refund for the unused ticket, additional fees for re-issuing the ticket may be imposed by the airline. In general, this fee ranges between $75.00 and $100.00, plus any applicable fare changes. i'm sorry for the length of this post, however all this information is available online in easy to find locations. i'm sorry that you had a bad experience patricia, but Travelocity did not set the policy. You also agreed to the policy when purchasing the ticket.
