Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I, like many other individuals, am fed up with the harrasing and unethical activity of Triad Financial Corporation. I readily admit that they would not have need to contact me if I hadn't been behind on a payment, but that does not excuse the threatening and unprofessional treatment that I have received.

First, if they have not processed the payment ON the due date, I start receiving calls. Home, work, and even mobile telephones, I was out of town one day and recieved a total of 18, yes 18 telephone calls from them. I am struggling to run a small business and the last thing I need is to walk into my office and have my secretary tell me that a collection agency has called six times.

So last November I informed them not to contact me at my place of work or on my mobile telephone. The calls stopped for a couple of days, but then I started receiving them again. I decided to take a proactive step, went into my personal information and deleted my work and mobile numbers from my profile. That was successful, but then a couple months later I was late again and I actually got a call at work, I asked how she got the number and she said it was NONE OF MY BUSINESS.

On a later call I mentioned this to another representative and she sayed that was impossible because they only use auto dialers. So now, in addition to calling me at work I have been called a liar.

In an attempt to make things work on my pay schedule, I requested that the loan be changed to the end of the month. I was told that if I would make the payment at that time, my due date would change. I made the payment, but the due date did not change. The following month, after the original due date (but before the date it was supposed to be changed to)I received another rude, even abusive call. I explained to her about the due date, she said the problem was that it could not be set up on the last day of the month for some reason or another, but if I would pay that day, she would set it up for the 1st of the month.

I agreed, made the payment and waited... my due date never changed, so I decided I would not make payment until my due date changed. I got a call today (April 3rd) saying that I was 16 days late. I responded saying, "no, I am two days late and I will gladly make the payment as soon as my due date is changed on the website to the 1st". She said she couldn't change it unless I paid today (where have I heard that before?).

I told her I had already made that agreement and miraculously, that was never documented. It seems to me that they document exactly what they want to document and leave out what they don't want documented. I told her I didn't care if it wasn't documented, that's what happened and I would pay when my due date was changed, as promised by one of their reps. She then asked, "So are you agreeing to have your care voluntarily repossesed? I have never lost my temper over the telephone with any other company, but I have to admit, I lost it then.

I am so tired of being interupted in mid sentance, being threatend and lied to and harrassed. I don't know if they have actually violated any laws with me, but I have never dealt with a company so vile and unprofessional. If their behavior is not illegal, it should be.

To the poster who painstakingly defended the oh so wonderful Triad I must ask: Are you seriously trying to say it is acceptable for this company to break laws simply becuase they grant credit to risky indidviduals? In our case, we stopped paying because we could not get the vehicle registered in the state of Texas, could not even operate the thing legally because Triad had never filed paperwork and it was liened by another finance company. Are you seriously suggesting you would continue paying for a vehicle if your finance company didn't even posses the title and could never provide it to you? Would you risk a 300 dollar ticket every time you drove the d**n thing simply because you were unable to get it registered and your finance company REFUSED to take steps to help you rectify the situation? Puh- lease. Now, since I know for certain Reps from Triad read this forum, here is a message for you: YOU WILL NEVER EVER GET ANOTHER DIME OF OUR MONEY, REGARDLESS OF HOW MANY COLLECTION LETTERS YOU SEND US. But please, keep sending them because it is nice have a good laugh at your expense.

Questions for Rick. What does someone being a second chance borrower have to do with the way a person is treated? What, because at one point or another a person had unforseen circunstances (a death of a spouse, sickness, natural disaster etc..) and had some financial difficulties it gives Triad the right to threaten, harass, insult and break the federal laws? One thing Triad and people of your kind that defend them, need to realize is that no matter what the reason the person has or had any credit problems, NOBODY needs to be treated that way. Triad seems to feel they are exempt to the laws that were created to protect consumers from treatment like this. You are quite shallow and closed minded about "THE REASON WHY YOU ARE A BE GIVEN A SECOND CHANCE." My husband was 40 when he had his heart attck. We had just refianced our vehicle a couple of months prior. Even though I asked for help from Triad, I was basically told to go to hell. We didn't have bad credit, we had limited credit. So your theory of being a late payor, just got blown away. Triad has changed peoples due dates without approval nor knowledge to the customer in which the customer is then getting harassing calls because their payment is late. Triad adds fees that they can never provide explaination for. Triad violates the Federal Laws on debt collection and Fair Credit Reporting. Triad harasses, threatens, belittles, and violates their customers privacy, rights, and well being. Your rebuttal is taked for a complete mockery. For all we know, Triad paid you to write your rebuttal. Well, we are not stupid, ignorant puppets. Triad's day is coming. After I get done with them, I'll ask you if you still want to defend their wonderful name. And to all victims.....Have you gotten your FTC complaint filed yet? If not, please do so. It takes just a couple of minutes. If you don't want to file on line, you can call them and they will take your complaint right over the phone. Good luck to all.

I would like to respond to some of the comments made in recent posts. First, I will advise you that I have been in the Automotive Finance industry for 7 years. I have worked in both the Collection Department and Credit department for this industry and consider myself to have some experience in this matter. That being said, I would like to respond and comment on some of the posts I have recently read. Triad Financial is an automotive finance company that caters to those with "Challenging" credit profiles. These profiles have a similar common denominator and that is that a majority have had problems in the past with paying institutions back and on time. Without such company's these individuals would not be able to finance a vehicle period. In the olden days, if you had bad credit, you were in a nut shell, out of luck. You would need to seek financing from a bank, a credit union, or simply have to pay cash. Now the one common thing I am seeing in these posts are that customers are PAST DUE. Because you have had Challenging credit in the past, you were given a second chance, thus the term "Second Chance" Financing. This causes you to have to pay a much higher APR on your contract because you are a Higher Risk to pay your debt back on time. As we all know, history usually repeats itself, and you are once again behind, not paying your contract, that you signed Voluntarily (no one forced you to sign). Now I will admit, regardless of the situation, every person deserves to be treated with respect and spoken to with respect. However, when you are past due, you are past due, plain and simple. Triad Financial prides itself on customer service and giving individuals a chance to repair former problems involving their credit. And yes, again I will state, that everyone deserves to be treated with respect. But remember one thing. When you are past due on your loan, you no longer are in Customer Service. You are in the Collection Department. You owe money, and the department is set up to resolve the current situation. There are some "Second Chance" Finance company's that will repossess a car after only 10 days past due. However, Triad does not operate in that fashion. They will attempt to take every opportunity to bring you current and keep you in the vehicle that they loaned you the money for in the first place. No one wins when a vehicle is repossessed. You still owe the money regardless, and then you risk paying for something you don't even have any longer. In addition, Triad loses money as well having to Charge off a loan that was deemed uncollectable. I understand the frustration and hatred you all show, but I would bet that if I was able to view some of your accounts, a large population would have less than satisfactory pay history's and probably are behind month after month. I sympathise with customers who are truly in need of assistance and go out of my way to make sure that my representatives handle that situation to the best of their ability. But that is a far cry from the habitual offenders that are chronic delinquent accounts, and will use every excuse they have to not pay their loan on time. Now, I can only speak for myself but when I work with a customer, I look for the opportunity of eliminating the current situation that they are in and bringing them back on track. In addition, that is how I train my representatives to engage their jobs as well. I will bet any amount of money that when someone is yelled at, talked down to, or harassed, they will get no where. Education is the only ingredient. No one can force you to pay your loan on time. All we can do is educate you on the benefits and ramifications if it is not done. I read these posts with great care, and will utilize them to train the existing and new employees on what not to do. However, again, Triad Financial is not a Prime lending institution working with individuals with above average credit. They are a "Second Chance" finance company. A sub-prime financing company lending money to people with sub-prime credit. The object is to pay your loan on time, repair your previous poor credit history, reestablish your credit worthiness, and have the opportunity of financing a future vehicle with a much lower APR than what you are currently paying. I wish you all the success and hope your future endeavors with Triad Financial are more favorable.
