Turn Key Motors Refuse to return down payment Mint Hill, North Carolina
On Jan 26,2013 my husband and I went to Turn key Automotive after being pre approved via telephone. Since we were pre approved the only thing we had left to do was the paperwork and bring in our down payment.
So we drove home everything was fine. Exactly a week later on Feb 1st Adam the car dealer said that unfortunately we was not approved due to my husband not having a driver's licence even though both our names were on the vehicle and I am a licenced driver. We understood even though we loved the car rules were rules. So Adam was very apologetic and agreed to pick up the car (the Car dealership is outside of Charlotte and we reside in Greensboro) and promised he would return our down payment on Monday.
So Monday came and went , numerous calls, text still no answer from Adam so finally we called from a Charlotte number he miraculously answered right away. So my husband asked Adam what happened where is our money he proceeded to tell my husband that he is not refunded any amount and we have to take it as a loss. He also stated " I have your money in my front pocket, but you ain't getting it." He has the car and all that we are asking for is our deposit back I think it is unethical and very bad taste for a car dealership to be so desperate for money that they will scam innocent people who work hard for their money.
