September 2001 - I won a bid for a Compaq Ipaq from Ubid for $350.

4 weeks later it had not yet been shipped

After repeated phone calls and emails - most of them unanswered, and waiting a minimum of 45 minutes! (max I waited was 2hours and 10 minutes) ON HOLD! each time to explain the urgency that I was leaving the country within

4 weeks and I needed it shipped. Each phone call, reopening the case as they had no record of the previous calls.

Eventually - 2 months later - they shipped it. It arrived at my apartment 3 days after I'd already moved out and relocated for work to a new country.

My apartment building (Pegasus group) returned the item back to Fedex. (after I called the concierge and told him to hold it for my friend to pick up)

Another 3 months of petitioning Fedex and Ubid (with overseas calls involving hold times of more than 45 minutes and more unanswered emails) to locate the item and the final result is: "the item was shipped and signed for by your apartment building"

After contacting Pegasus group and my apartment building for more than 6 months - where they opened a claim against the security company - I get told that I have no case as the item had been returned.

A brand new Compaq Ipaq, disappeared into the ether, thanks to zero customer support from UBid for more than 2 months, and no help from the company that runs my building.
