Ugly Duckling (aka) Drive Time ripoff Dallas Texas
I also had a terrible experience with Ugly Duckling. I purchased my vehicle in 1999, in less that 6 months the clutch, transmission,a motor went out.. I was out of $2000 of my own money in repairs and when i went to ask about the warranty on the vehicle the repairs I needed to have done of COURSE was not covered..
So what i did was drove in first gear all the way to the location that i purchased the car from-which was the only gear the car would drive in- and gave the keys back to the cashier's office, got a voluntary give back receipt and went home. Do you all not know three months after I turned the car back in too them-they were still looking for the car as if i still had it. I told the collections Dept/or rep everytime they called -Yes they did call more than once after I faxed a copy of the paperwork THEY gave back to me prooving that i turned the vehicle back in.
Coincidentally the car showed up three months later at a vacant set up buildings three blocks down where i turned the car back in.
They put a repo of course on my credit under Ugly Duckling..and then when Drive Time bought them out two-three years later- Drive Time put a repo on my credit(IS That legal)...now tell me who really go screwed in this situation-two times over.
