Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

I've had such a terrible experience with Ultimate Motorsports (advertising on Ebay) that I am putting the sweat equity into posting this report.

OK - I tried to purchase a Volvo C30 from Ultimate Motorsports through a "Buy It Now"  Ebay listing.

"Tried" is the operative word here. Let me elaborate (and give you the SHORT version) of this three day saga....

I clicked the BUY IT NOW option, which led me to my Pay Pal. I tried to pay a $500 Deposit for the car, and Pay Pal replied with a message on my screen that read: "ultimate_motorsport_inc's PayPal account is unable to accept your payment at this time, contact the seller for help with completing your order."

So, I contacted Ultimate Motorsport, spoke with "Kelly" (their Credit Rep who is more than likely directly tied into the ownership of Ultimate Motorsports) who said that there was a "problem" with their Pay Pal account, and she couldn't fix it.

I explained to Kelly that I simply wanted to buy the car, and that I found it hard to believe that a dealership that represents itself on Ebay as "100% customer satisfaction" and "10 Years on Ebay" now had a "problem" with selling a car on Ebay - a simple and proven method when all parties do as they advertise/claim.

Kelly had no answer and then directed my phone call to the owner "Joe." I told Joe what the problem was, and he said that they were having "problems" with their PayPal account. He went on to say that if I wanted the car I could pay for the car outside of Ebay and PayPal.  My business sense "red flag" went up the flagpole, and I declined to complete the transaction as per his suggestion. I was purchasing a car cross country based on a description and photographs, and I wanted the full protection of Ebay and Pay Pal by purchasing the car as it was advertised - on Ebay. Joe replied that he offered a solution (buying the car directly) and that if I didn't want to go with that method there was nothing he could do.

I contacted Ebay fraud division, explained that the seller tried to get me to complete the transaction outside of Ebay and PayPal, but was met with - as the representative put it - the "technicality" that there was nothing they could do  because the seller did not suggest going outside of Ebay via their Ebay Messaging System. The Ebay rep went on to say that my phone conversation was not verifiable (insert the sound of my jaw dropping). She did find it strange that the a "ten year used car seller on Ebay" knew he had a problem with his Pay Pal account and had not got it fixed...

Bottom line, Ebay made a note on the sellers account, and said if the complaints continued, they would start the process of closing their Ebay account...

Transitioning from the 20th century to the 21st century I have witnessed a lot of change in America, but one thing that hasn't changed is the reputation of Used Car Salesmen...

NOTE: After writing this review, I wondered if the Better Business Bureau had any complaints about Ultimate Motorsports. I went to Google and entered into the Search Field "BBB Ultimate Motorsports Houston TX" and found out that they have an "F" rating. Here's a link:bbb.org/houston/business…

I hope this posting helps people trust their "little voice inside" and thus trust their instincts. There's a reason why you're hearing that little voice when dealing with Ultimate Motorsports ;-)
