Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

Today I received a letter in the mail stating that I was preapproved for 10,000 guarenteed as long as I filled out this application and sent in $37 with just my signature. At first glance it seemed appealing. I have no credit cards and haven't had any for years. The credit line would be great for my business.  But before doing anything I thought about it. There was no application. No contact info other than an address in Dallas, TX. Only the insturctions to send $37 and I would get my PLATINUM CARD Membership (as they typed on the letter).  In small  print it does say that the credit offered is exclusively applicable for credit purchases from UWCS.  When I checked out thier website, they do state that the credit is only good for purchases from their catelog. As for the items in the catelog, well, only members can see.

UWCS is skirting the fraud line with this, knowing that some people will not carefully read or check out their company and instead think they are getting a $10,000 platinum credit carb backed by Visa or Mastercard with which they could use to cover car reapars or plumbing issues that possible arise.  Once the $37 is sent in, you only get it back (based on the word of UWCS) when you make a purchase. So if you pay UWCS and get this PLATINUM CARD Membership and discover that the stuff there is not what you need or want or don't agree with the prices, you are out atleast $37 to these people.

This company should be upfront about the type of business they really are; a catelog service that (again based upon thier word) sellms merchandise on credit to people who sign on the dotted line thinking that they too can finally have a credit card.

They Are Upfront!

They do not say you are getting a major credit card. The $37 fee is also up front.  They exist because there are thousands of people who do not have the common sense you do!  They are the ones who will sign the agreement WITHOUT reading what they are obligating themselves to!  If somebody is so stupid as to do that, then they deserve what they get!

However, I want to focus on YOU.  You did exactly what a smart consumer should do.  You read the offer, you decided the offer wasn't good for you.  Everyone on this site needs to learn from the great example you set.
