My experience with cell-phone-repair.com has been so pleasant! NOT. I saw their ad on Google when trying to find a place to get my wife's Sprint PCS Sanyo 8200 repaired. I mailed it in around 10/17/05. I didn't hear from them so I called them on 10/21/05. They had received the phone and gave me a quote over the phone. I had a broken hinge and a speaker/ringer that was barely audible. I told them to go ahead and fix the speaker/ringer at their quoted price of $45.

I waited and waited. I called and left several messages (they rarely answered their phone number listed on the website). I emailed the address that was then listed on the website and emails bounced. I eventually tracked down an alternate phone number to get through. I was told it was almost done. I was eventually told on November 2 that it would ship that day.

I received it in the mail on November 5. It had no accompanying documentation--just my phone in a padded envelope. I immediately tested the ringer and IT WAS NOT FIXED AT ALL! You can see a video I made comparing it to a working phone of the same make/model at this address:

Anyway, I left a message to try to get a refund on 11/5/05. I didn't hear back from them. I bought my wife a new cell phone over the weekend because I didn't want to deal with a repair any longer. I called them back on 11/7/05--twice. I finally got a call back on 11/8/05 from Charla and was told they would not give me a refund. Her response was "how do we know it isn't working?"

She wouldn't even look at the video I made. She said it wouldn't prove anything. They wanted me to send it in again. I had already decided to sell it for parts on ebay so I declined to send it back. At this point it isn't worth my time/effort/frustration to deal with them any longer.

I demanded a refund and she told me that it wasn't going to happen. I told her that I would dispute the charge on my credit card and report them to the BBB--which I've done. She said they would fight it and that I'd end up paying the $45. We'll see I guess.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! They do not return calls in a timely manner and appear to be either incompetent or crooked.
