Universal Lotto, Universal Sweepstakes ripoff letter received Amsterdam Netherlands
Today, I received a letter from Universal Sweepstakes or Universal Lotto stating I had won $150,000. They enclosed a check from Arden & Associates, 1213 Piedmont Road NOrth, Piedmont, OK 73078, 604-723-0051 from F & M Bank in Oklahoma for the amount of $1,998.00. This is suppose to pay for the taxes and service charges of getting the montey to me.
I called the 514 phone number and was told to cash the check and take the money to Western Union and send it to London, Ontario, Canada and they would pick up the $ and pay my taxes and forward me the winnings.
Right!! I can't believe people go for this this. I couldn't believe that someone was talking to me and actually asking me to do this for them and expecting me to.
Wake up America! Noboy in the real world would ask for you to do this in order for you to get your winnings, they would simply deduct it from the winnings. I then called the company on the check and they verified that my check was real and not fraudalent and to go ahead and cash it and do what the other company asked me to do. All the voices sounded the same and sounded like they were all sitting in the same room. They all had middleeastern dialects.
I asked to speak to a boss and they told me to call back in an hour. I then went on the internet and googled the name and found this. I wasn't real surprised, I knew it wasn't real. Glad I read this web site and didn't do anything so stupid and sure hope no one else does!
