U.S. Movers Van Lines Inc. orginally estimate move at $2405.00 from York PA to San Juan Capistrano CA then increased cost to $11,500.00 after picking up household goods. When it was pointed out that the increased cost was out of line U.S. Moves would not deliver unless paid in full. Protested this action as dimentions of truck load-out were not in line with the $11,500.00 cost.

Upon delivery took photos and made sketchs of delivery van to demonstrate that costs were not appropriate and mailed them (still have copies) to U.S. Movers and called them many times and discussed to no avail.

Filed complaint with DOT (FMCSA) 400 Virginia Ave Washington DC FAX 202 358-7100 Phone: 888 368-7238. Also had attorney Marc C. Kenndey (949 496-8101) contact verbally and by letter Mr. David Gazit of U.S. Movers to request refund and protest fraudlent activities. Mr. Gazit has consistently refused to acknowledge or respond.

The DOT is so understaffed, they're not even able to enforce their own regulations, but you should call anyway and register a complaint.
