Viking Buy Viking appliances be prepared for non-working, expensive to purchase, expensive to repair nightmares..... Greenwood, Mississippi
Built my dream vacation home in 1999. Put in the beautiful Viking 48" refrigerator and 48" propane ovens. Lovely burgundy color, too.
Neither have ever worked correctly.
Starting with the doors falling off the refrigerator on day one - Viking told me not to put anything in the doors and I've now found on the Internet that there was a class action law suit about this 'feature.' Then the freezer (nine years) went, then the refrigerator went (ten years). No warranty coverage. Thousands of dollars of costs to fix and lost foods.
The oven came with a propane kit. Great if you don't mind all your food burning. The knobs that turn the burners on are easily broken. Have to replace who unit not just knobs. Hundreds of dollars more gone. New knobs on newer ovens, I've noticed. No surprise there.
My new refrigerator/freezer was delivered today. $11,000 in to the Viking refrigerator and now it's gone. And Viking doesn't appear to care, support their appliances, attempt to make good on their faulty components. Never, ever again. All my homes will use campfires for cooking before I ever make this kind of mistake again.
