I took my 2004 Ford Expedition on 6/06/2010 at 9:45am to VIP Car Wash and asked for a full detail (wax, wash, leather treatment...the works). I was given a price of $159 for the detail, $25 for buffing and $59 for the leather treatment. I paid $100 on a credit card, another 97$ on my debit card and additional $59 on my debit card for leather treatment. While there a couple of the staff told me not to leave because all of the items I purchased wouldn't be done and secondly that I got ripped off in price. I hung around with the exception of 30 minutes but it appeared everything was done. Upon completion and inspection 3/4 of the windows had brown spots all over them. They wouldn't wash off and I told the owner. He told me they were noticed when I arrived by the staff which I new was incorrect. I argued that they were not there and told him basically I didn't care what they used (he was telling me something about all water based chemicals) that my windows had a major issue. He got one of his staff to say they saw the spots and walked off. One of the staff took a type of rub and the spots begun to come off but each window required major effort and time. The issue then became that the staff wouldn't continue to clean all the windows. I refused to leave but the owner would not come back to my location. The staff would walk over and clean for a couple of minutes and then leave again. I was forced to take a rag and the cleaner myself to clean my own windows which I had just paid to have clean. I don't have the experience and the cleaner wasn't responding to my efforts like it did for the staff so I ended up leaving with the spots still on my windows. After walking away when I complained, the owner (a man from orient/Asian ethnicity) would not come back over but instead was angry. He was squealing wheels of other consumer vehicles as he moved them and one of the African American elderly staff held his foot in the air, pointed at it, and then pointed at me as a threatening gesture. I'm not one to get into a violent exchange so I cleaned the windows best I could (with some sporadic help) and left. I bought this vehicle (2004) 6 months ago and it was extremely clean, there was nothing like the almost permanent spots from which I saw every on my windows after the cleaning. In addition, I paid over $220 for a detail so if the spots were there, the staff proved that the cleaning equipment they had could remove the spots so why were the windows not cleaned as part of the detail? If they were not there, then the chemicals or washing technique they used caused the spots, therefore it was the owners responsibility to clean. My windows still have spots which I don't know how to clean. During my time at VIP I was overcharged; told by staff that I needed to closely review the service; incurred apparent damage to my vehicle; threatened by staff; and encounter an unpredictable owner who was making illegal tire squealing actions with other consumers vehicles. These actions were an intimidation to make me leave and I had to spend 30 minutes trying to clean windows myself for which I had just paid. I deserve a refund in full for the issue encountered and to allow me to find someone who can clean my windows.
