I feel for you, I had Windows ME and I had many problems with error messages. It was always a pain trying to fix them all. 1. Take your windows me cd, put it in, go click on start, then run, then browse, select your cd-rom drive, then open, then type in Driver5 for the file name, then click open-or OK I can't remember which it is for the me edition. You should see the file pmxgl.dll there. Highlight it (select it) then select copy. Take out cd. Now, you have to search for files or folders on your computer. Find c:\windows\options\cabs. Highlight it, select paste. This will put a copy of the pmxgl.dll where it belongs so windows can find it. 2. If this doesn't solve your problem, try going to their website- I can't post the name, but It's www.(insert the scanner company's name here).com. Click on drivers. Next page- Select your model number. Next page- Select ot8100logo.exe. This will download the driver for your scanner. Open it (or extract all if it's a zipped file(it's easy to see if it's a zipped file- the picture for the file will have a zipper on a folder). 3. Another option is to put the windows me cd-rom in then restart your computer. Then it should ask you if you want to install or press the letter R on the keyboard for repair. I would recomend this a last resort because SOMETIMES this will get rid of files that you saved on your computer. Now I'm pretty sure that ME has system restore, to check go to start then program (files?) then accesories then system tools. If you have system restore it will be listed there. If you do have system restore, you can use the windows me cd to repair, and IF your files "disappear" afterwards then you can go to sytem restore and select an earlier date- your files will return after a restart. But your problem will be back so try 1 or 2 first. I hope this solves your problem!
