Not all of them are the same at all. I have worked for Waffle House for almost 10 years and have seen some that are pretty bad and I have seen some that are very clean and well run. one thing about waffle house is that if the MGR dont care what happens in their store the employees wont care. IMO a lot of MGMT changes need to take place for the company overall to get better. some things for instance 1) in our store we are now smoke free *yes the new state law in AR goes into effect on july 1st bans smoking in public places* but we went smoke free before it was even signed into law.. 2) we strive to keep our store clean and have had NO health department violations in the 1 1/2 that I have worked for that store. 3) Arkansas stores state wide now take VISA and MASTERCARD along with a debit machine for cash coupons to be used as cash. 4) We have added new menu items such as cinnamon oat bran waffles, nut grain waffles, and the original burgers (which arent that bad kinda remind me of white castel up north) ***all in all its not a bad resteraunt there are like any resteraunt bad stores within the company that give all the stores a bad rap. On a different note when I go into work I will get the corprate office number to post that goes to atlanta. usually when a report is made at the corprate level it trickles down hill very quickly usually the store will receive notice of the complaint that day or the next day with a statement to be faxed back imediately to start looking at the problem. ** atleast in my experience.** sorry so long been there a long time and hate to see stores doing things like this. O yes as far as being charged for a meal that you did not eat I completely agree that you should not have have had to pay the ticket!!!! post back tomorrow with the number.

With all due respect, and certainly not to be argumentitive... Waffle house is America's second-largest family-style restaurant (behind Denny's). Thay have over 1400 locations counting company owned and franchise stores. In 2004 Waffle House reported $415 million in sales. Judging by these facts, I would say it is quite a successful business plan. Just don't drink any unidentified substances on a dare from one of their employees. ;-) No, I don't work for them or have any affiliation with them.

They only take cash

This is the reason I will never go back to one. I cannot believe a restaurant won't take plastic in this day and age. I travel on business, and I stopped in one. I spent another hour trying to find an ATM so I could get cash to pay for my breakfast. Maybe I should send them a bill for that hour. The manager said they have always been cash only. She said it was corporate policy. She also said the employees get paid in cash. Great. That's some kind of business model. The only businesses I know of that operate on a "cash only" basis, are drug dealers. I can understand not accepting checks, but to save the 1.6% for credit card purchases drove me away. And I know it drove away others like me.

I agree- there are differences...

There can be huge differences between restaraunts. There is a Waffle House 1/4 mile from my work and another one a little more than a mile away. I will drive right past the first to get to the second one. The difference is night and day in appearance, cleanliness, food quality, and service. I dont go there often, but enough to know a good Waffle House from a bad one. Oh, and the one closest to my house is the worst one I've ever been in. It was so bad I ended up leaving before my order was taken, and I have never gone back there.

Not all Waffle Houses are able to maintain the same standards. One instance

If you would have called the customer service hotline posted in the entryway, they would heve been more than happy to resolve the issue to your satisfaction. I am a waitress at a Waffle House in Orange, Texas....we take great pride in our customer service skills and cleanliness. I know that some do not carry the same standards, but perhaps you will give us another chance.
