This has been a long time coming but I finally got it out there. Please feel free to cross post this do whatever it takes to get the message out there and hopefully save someone else from this plight.

Be careful here with Washington Gas Energy Services! I got caught up in their “2014 POLAR VORTEX”. At the time I was attending school and dealing with a family matter so time did not allow me to get this written sooner. This past summer (2013) a college age kid going door sold me the lower rate that Washington Gas was offering 8.3 cents per KWH. At the time I was paying 8.64 cents per KHW with Met-Ed, for electric service in Lebanon, Pennsylvania. He made sure I knew the rate was an adjustable rate, he also assured me that even if the rate did change it would not go higher than Met Ed’s rate... Well the price changed, it went to 14.534 cents per KWH. On February 17, 2014, I received a written offer from Washington Gas Energy Services. Their offer was to provide me a fixed rate of 9.160 cents per KWH, retroactive to the time the rate changed… if I signed a contract through May 2015.
I called Washington Gas only to be told in so many words “too bad, so sad, like it or leave it“. Angry like everyone else that got swindled I called the PUC. After explaining my plight, the lady told me there is nothing the PUC could do, Washington Gas was offering me a choice. The offer made to me is not a choice, it’s an ultimatum. I refuse to be strong armed into signing a contract. I decided to take the licking as an expensive lesson and went back to Met-Ed with the intention to tell my story to anyone that will listen. To add insult to injury the change back to Met Ed may take up to 45 days. When in comes to choice, keep in mind “caveat emptor”… buyer beware.
I don’t understand how these people sleep at night knowing other human beings are struggling at the hands of their greed. In an effort to keep Washington Gas Energy Services, PA PUC License No A-110158, from doing this to just one more struggling family we need to send a clear message to take their flim flamming tactics somewhere else. Together we can run them out of the State. Don’t allow another family to suffer, run them off when they show up. Feel free to share this in the widest dissemination, lets get this message out their, Keep it going cross post it. Cross post it in your email, face book or any other social media. Find them, then boycott them. Bring them to their knees like they brought us to our knees.
