I had a similar experience with the "Quality Mechanics" at WATSON.

I had a 95 Mercury Sable that I purchased at Watson. We brought it in on a recall the Friday before Memorial day a few years ago. They did the recall work and before I made it to County Line Road, the car had a terrible shake and rattle. So, we took it back to the service department. They had closed so I parked it over there over the long weekend. The shimmy was due to some front end part that needed replacing. I asked why did it start to shimmy after their mechanics inspected the car. They had no answer. So, I replaced the parts for $400. I drove out again and the shimmy was still there. I took it back and they wanted another $250.00 for front tires. sorry, allowing you to give a competitors name would instigate others to just file against their competition, to only come back later to suggest their company your comments on this policy are welcome! CLICK here to see why Rip-off Report, as a matter of policy, deleted either a phone number, link or e-mail address from this Report. I have never stepped a foot on the Watson Quality Property except to make sure I get on their mailing lists as I take great joy in recouping my costs from their incompetent mechanics or crooked supervisors $0.37 at a time. And I have told at least 100 people about my trials. The company I worked for used to buy fleet vehicles from them, until I wormed my way into the position as fleet manager. Now we drive Dodges or Chevys. FORD-FOUND ON ROAD DEAD.

It takes a while for posts to appear. A rebuttal may appear above another one even though the writer of the second one was not able to read the first one. So here the customer has responded that she is now satisfied, though the dealer is only responding to the first complaint. It appears that this customer may be one of the ones that is not easily satisfied. The dealer did two expensive favors for her that really went above and beyond what they had to do. They brought out a loaner truck when they picked up the broken one. Then they let her exchange the problem truck for a better model at the same price. (Hopefully it really is the same price). That's exceptional. Here there are many, many other cases of people who weren't allowed to return cars the day after they bought them, even though they were defective. That's the industry norm.

Maybe the timing was wrong. Here we have a women who posts about a car dealer and how bad they are. Then the women posts an update about how the car dealer made everything right and she would recommend them and they are such good guys. Then the car dealer posts a rebuttal to the original post. If he had been smart, he would have kept his mouth shut and his fingers off the keys. Instead, he comes across as a jerk. How dumb can you be? Typical car guy. Had to get the last word in. What an idiot.

This dealer sounds like a fine business. You bought a truck, something wasn't working right, they tried to fix it. That is what they do. Sometimes it takes a day or two to find out why. The first fix didn't work, so they had to try again. And you blasted them in a public forum for trying to fix your new truck. I agree, i would be frustrated if I bought a new truck and it didn't start, but they gave you a loaner while your car was in the shop. Not exactly putting you out on the curb. Then you refuse to get your new truck when it is fixed so they put you in a new one with no hassles. Sound like the best place to buy a new car to me. That is how I would want to be treated, and the type of business practices i want to support. I believe that you owe this dealership an apology for slandering them in a public forum for bending over backward to accomodate you. To the dealer: Thank you for being a reputable business in an industry full of snakes. You did what needed to be done, and i bet it cost you all chuck of change to satisfy this customer. Hopefully the customer will spread as much positive word of mouth as he or she did negative. I am sorry anyone has to read this report.

I have been representing Watson Quality Ford for the past 9 years and have served my clients with the utmost professionalism and respect they deserve. And I whole heartedly believe in service before, during and after the sale. The comments that were made did not include the whole story and consumers need to know this. Yes, the customers new truck did break down. But, they were instructed to call Roadside Assistance and they would tow it to the nearest dealership. The customer refused to deal with the local dealership because of personal reasons. We flatbedded another truck to her and picked hers up at an expense of over $400 to our dealership. After replacing the starter and some fuses that were missing, the customer was told her truck was fixed. They refused to pick the truck up, and said they wanted another one in its place. So I found another one just like it except this one had a sunroof. The customer agreed to take this one and all of the paperwork was rewritten. The customer took delivery of the second new truck. Since then, the customer has been in our shop twice saying this truck is not running correctly and is smoking. The technician has run all of the required diagnostics and there were no codes reflecting a problem. Diesels do have a tendency to smoke. I apologized to the customer and explained to them that I did not appreciate the comments that were made on this website or in public. We have and will always strive to please our customers, but just remember, there are three sides to a story.

Remember - your truck is a Ford. Every Ford dealer in the country is required to provide warranty service even if you didn't buy the truck from them. If there is a Ford dealer in your town they HAVE to do the warranty work. Any doubts on this, just call Ford. Good luck.
