2 WEEKS AGO THE NIGHMARE BEGAN...

My daughter & I were in the mall shopping at Nordstorms & a nice looking lady approached my daughter who is 13 and said you have the most beautiful hair & she wanted her to come to an office audition. Before i had a chance to say anything my daughters eyes grew to the size of 2 quarters. She was simply on cloud nine. She took the card the lady gave us and held it tight in her hand. As we drove home she called her best friends exclaiming how she had been discovered by the top modeling agency in the world. WILHELMINA....

WE arrive at theri office in dallas texas along with 100's of others and my daughters fantasy became a nightmare...we were told we needed $995.00 immediately because there were jobs for her age with seventeen mag.etc...

and also another 400.00 for her pictures & if we didn't pay tonight we couldnt be a part of the wilhelmina agency. luckily for us we called the BBB. Pulled out the yellow pages and started calling around to real modeling comapnies that are listed in the phone book.....

I called the owner in new york some german guy Pedri or something like that and he said that he does get models thru the scouting company he recently purchased-transcontinental...he couldnt give me any refrences and how could they sleep at night knowing they just took a piece of a childs heart and rubbed salt on it...

My daughters grades began to plumet her friends began to laugh at her and now she is in counseling..............

Why cant the Attorney Generals office shut them down?

If you go into a mall you should only buy things in a store and not from anyone who just comes up to you. Being a model is a very demanding and difficult job of work. While it is true some models, both women and men, make a good living, you will find that most make about the same as a cocktail waitress or bartender, but the hours are worse. Also a model has to keep herself or himself very plain, so they can me made up for different shoots. The compitition is very strong and other models will do what ever it takes to cut you out of a job. Really, it seems to me that of all the people I photograph, the ones who have money to start with and the ones who have been lucky in the trade are the only people having fun. The rest? Well no one really gives a flying f k what happens to them. Thank you, Texino the camera man
