William Frick & Co. Ben Salazar Provided quote for local govt. job. Pulled quote after we already quoted job, then changed price three more times. Unable to provide press proof in due time. If can't provide press proof how can they provide finished product?? Libertyville Illinois
We contacted this company to provide a quote on the printing of reflective labels. This quote was for local government job. We quoted the job based upon the initial quote, we were awarded the job based upon their quote. Once receiving the bid the company changed their prices three additional times not honering the initial quote which we bid with. Our bid to the local govt. was with a very small markup to insure we got the bid. Ok, so now they have raised their price three additional times, valuable time is slipping by, we are down to the wire where we must provide a Press Proof to the local govt. to ensure that the product is acceptable to all. Press proof was ordered on April 8th, approx a week later no press proof, they stated that the press that they were trying to print on was not allowing the ink to dry. They said they had to order new ink and that it would be in a couple days later, now we are up to the end of April still nothing from them.
Unable to wait any longer I went out to source another company that hopefully could provide us with a quote, acceptable price and to provide a press proof in one or two day turn around. Thanks goodness a company locally was able to do that and once we received the press proof from the new company Wm. Frick & Sons was notified via email to not move forward with any type of press proof.
Here we have spent almost two months receiving nothing but increased prices and no proof of or if this company could provide a finished acceptable product. It has always been my understanding that once quoted your bound by that quote for a certain time frame which was not the case with the company.
Had I not been able to find another company we would have been banned from bidding on any govt. jobs for the next 4 years thus putting a huge financial hurt on our company.
By observation this company has no clue as to what they are doing and do not care about their reputation. Had they not been able to provide us the product why in the world would they not of said so rather than string us along for two months knowing we were under the gun to provide a press proof. Communication was sketchy and Ben Salazar seemed to have no real authority, he only made excuses.
