World Motors Sold car after I purchased tickets to Scottsdale to purchase the car, on advice of salesman/owner Scottsdale Arizona
Completely unsatisfied with World Motors. I inquired about an SLK 350 in early May 2009 and Tyler Thompson responded.
We exchanged several emails. I told him I was definitely interested in the car and would be flying from St. Louis the following week to inspect the car, take to a local mechanic, and if everything went well-purchase. I asked if I needed to do anything to secure the car until my arrival. Tyler responded that all I needed to do was provide my flight details and that would be sufficient. I provided my flight details the next day, reiterated my plans for how I wanted the day to go when I arrived and he replied to confirm.
The following Monday, Tyler emailed me to inform me that the car had been sold by the weekend crew and he was sorry for any trouble this might have caused. When I cited the emails and my flight confirmation he said he would be willing to locate another vehicle. At that point it was too late as I had sold my car in anticipation. I told him I would prefer that he refund the non-refundable tickets I had purchased. He never replied and I have not heard from him since.
At such a small operation it seems as though it would be easy enough to mark the paperwork or keys to the car as sale pending or do not sell with out speaking to Tyler but apparently that was too difficult, even for someone listed as a principal of the dealership.
I would highly discourage anyone from doing business with this establishment.
