I bought a video games website from a Lilhost seller on Ebay for $249.00(Feb.2004), and then after 4 days, recieved a URL and that was all. When I sent an email asking where was the info about the site, I was referred to Lilhost.com, who I had never heard of before.

The rep(Bess) for Lilhost started off our acquaintance by saying I was lying about recieving the info about the web site, that they had sent it, and I had recieved it right after the sale.

They then sent the info and an email saying: "here is the info you already recieved, it has been re-sent", also they acknowledged their seller in their email. Well these remarks and some others offended me, but I still tried to work with them, because the seller sent me an email apologising for not responding with the info about the site, saying he was new and this was his first sale. The original ad said no refunds.

I noticed immediately that several things that were advertised in the Ebay sale were not so. Like the site being 100% mine (yet I had no access whatsoever to any of the controls).

This site was supposed to be already making money. I was supposed to be able to personally customize the site, change colors, ect. Instead, I was urged to purchase hosting (even though the ad promised I would not need to buy anything else). I did not purchase hosting. I kept studying what they called "a welcome letter", trying to figure out how I was supposed to be able to customize the site. I purchased a "hits counter", to have a way to observe traffic, and a logo, adding my name, "coldgames" to the "video games" logo already on the site. (another $65.00). They did add these 2 things.

Now I could see the hits on the site- "none" except for mine. The "welcome letter" seemed hard to understand. There was a section about customization. It directs you to 2 different links to which you're supposed to customize you're store which are cool sites, however, what is actually offered here is a chance to become an affiliate partner in which you are paid a commission(around 8%or 10%) if you add them onto your website and anyone clicks onto their store(thru your personalized coded link)and buys anything.

I thought, well that's not exactly customizing the site. But, I decided to try to add the banner to the site anyway because it is a cool store. Lilhost's "welcome letter" said this could be done for free. I had to send the banner to Lilhost via email to have it added(even though the site was 100% mine).

I sent the banner, and to my surprise, Lilhost took my Video Games store off the site and made my main site store out of the 468"x60" banner that I had sent. I was then told in an email that the Video Game store of the site was just a demo (even though it appeared as a working store). Nothing in any of their ads said anything about the video games store being just a demo. This took the overzealous ads even further, as I had just added my Logo to the already existing words "video games" on the site, paying them $35.00 for that service. they did this knowing the site wasn't a video games site(because the store was a demo-per their email after they took it off, and put the banner as my main store). So now, I have a site that has nothing about video games on the site. Then, I sent an email asking them to let me add a 2 banners for affiliates that I learned about on the link Lilhost provided in the "welcome letter". Lilhost responded that they would add 1 banner for $25.00, and then another for $10.00. So, I paid them and sent banners thinking at least this would make the site have something on it about video games. Well, then I recieved an email saying the banners did not work properly, even though I sent myself the same email I sent them via copy, and my copy of the banners worked great. Further, they had no problem with the other banner when they took and made it my main store.

However, I re-sent the banners so Lilhost could add them to my site as I had paid them to do. I was then sent an email saying "no further modifications would be done", "do not ask". So I sent an email saying, I will require a refund then, as I would dispute the charges to my credit card through my pay systems. Lilhost sent me an email saying, "I did not have permission to dispute the charges", "My chargeback attempts were illegal", "I was a liar", and "I would be reported for fraud".

Well, I requested a refund from my pay systems(who I purchased through on Lilhost's site) for the $35.00 in modification fees, and 2 weeks went by in which Lilhost protested the refund(as I was told on the phone by My pay systems),and I(having saved every email from the beginning)sent my pay systems the evidence I had about the matter, copies of every email about it.

Even though Lilhost was their vendor, My pay systems refunded my $35.00. This just goes to show what a fine and honest company My pay systems is.

Now I'm left with a website that has a sign/LOGO that says I have no access to the controls of the site. I had paid another company to submit the site to search engines, even though Lilhost promised in the original ad they would promote the site until it occupied #1 spots in several search engines.

The site continues to show very few hits. I have heard nothing about the money this site was supposedly already making. It said in the ad that this site was already making money, and would be making $3,500.00 a month in profit in a years time or I would be given 10X the purchase price gauranteed.

After 3 months, no traffic is on the site, and even if it was, the individualized code gave me probably has been broken, so it is doubtful I would get credit for it.

Then even still, my affiliate commission would only be 8% to 10%. Can this turn into $3,500.00 per month?. I was given no contact info for Lilhost.com at all besides the email address. I did a search and got an address for Lilhost.com in Los Angeles, CA. I've read here from what others have said they are out of Canada. I don't know where they are.

I learned of them, and the affiliate partner opportunities through the link(s) that were provided in the "welcome letter" sent to me by email by Lilhost.com 4 days after I bought the site on Ebay(which is also a seperate company from Lilhost. My experiences with those companies has been pleasant.

Everything stated here is my own personal experiences. If there is any joint effort to seek legal remedy by these other unhappy customers of Lilhost.com, I would like to be a part of it to recover my $249.00.
